The problem with that is nobody knows about the DLC except N4G users haha. Oh well who cares which one sells more? Its like should I buy a game for my PC with my ATI card in it or my PC with a NVIDIA card in it? Durrrr the game will be the same either way, ya know? Its just stupid fan-boy bickering.
Another reason the pack-ins are a big deal is because you still have a large portion of the PS2 user base yet to make the switch to this generation of hardware. Things like this are precisely what will sway people, and they have the brand loyalty on their side. Sony's marketing team knows what they are doing. Thats kinda weird, why not just keep it the same? Its not like people feel ripped off by having to pre-order the game to gain access to the beta. I guess they are confident that the more people who play it will be inclined to buy it. That's confidence in your product!
