Alien Isolation blows Evil Within out of the water like a battleship vs a tugboat, when you play Alien Isolation the atmospheric tension is so great that your nerves will be shattered and your heart will be beating thru your chest and your hands sweaty from panic and fear trying to stay alive from the Alien after your gaming session.
I have both games and i keep going back to Alien Isolation because Evil Within just doesn't have that suspense factor that keeps you on the ...
The article is spot on, this game should be a contender for GOTY because the fear and terror you feel while playing is unmatched....a REAL survival horror game.
And yes this game surpasses Evil Within by a longshot when it comes to true terror and fear from an enemy stalking you that can kill you at any moment, you can at least run from your enemies in that game but you can't run to much (if at all) in Alien Isolation because the Alien will key in on your position and onc...
Same here....LOL
I still haven't beaten the game yet but i'm looking forward to the corporate lockdown DLC.
@agent
Don't make a fool of yourself more than you already have and lose that single bubble, it's obvious your comment is a poor attempt to trash the game without even have played it because if you did you'd know what the storyline was about.
The game is scary as hell because your level of fear of the Alien hunting you is elevated 100x over knowing you can die at ANY moment, especially when the Alien can find you by sight sound and smell meaning a...
Agreed.
Looking forward to this game, a different type of military shooter that we haven't seen in this next gen yet.
Mikami really missed the mark with Evil Within, needs to go back to the drawing board when it comes to true survival horror.
The survival horror genre score in this next gen...
Evil Within 0
Alien Isolation 1
Six things to know....
1. not scary
2. not spooky
3. not creepy
4. does the game go back to survival horror roots....no
5. leaves you wanting more
6. not a true survival horror game, that honor goes to Alien Isolation
For a game that was hyped up to its release of going back to its survival horror roots of the original first RE game, this game has truly missed that mark in achieving that goal big time. The game isn't scary none whatsoever and its more on the action side rather than being spooky and creepy like it was advertised to be, basically it's RE4 2.0 and that's pretty much it.
There's nothing that says survival horror about Evil Within and if you want a true surviva...
I'm playing on medium and that's tough enough as it is, i'm guessing playing on hard is like walking thru a minefield where you can barely walk or make noise at all knowing the Alien is no more than 2 or 3 steps from you waiting to make you scream....lol
I'm having a blast playing Alien Isolation, the Alien is smart as hell and is NO joke and i'm not just saying that just to hype the game up.....the Alien had me pinned in the corner in the Medlab area for 30min last night (no lie), he knew I was in the area and constantly taunted and teased me back and forth like he's leaving the area then running back to the area where you are like he's in a track meet and what's worse is that the tracking monitor doesn't always pinpo...
I'm on the fence about getting this T300RS wheel, I have the T80 racing wheel and it only has 240 degree rotation angle which makes turning in Driveclub a little tough while the T300RS has 1080 degree rotation angle. Now this could be because driveclub doesn't have any in depth wheel settings like the crew beta did or the F1 racing series, i'm gonna keep testing the wheel out with driveclub and hopefully driveclub is updated with more wheel setting options soon.
Can't wait to play this game, i ordered the digital download version from the psn store last month and i'll be playing Tuesday at midnight.
This was my first scare moment of the game.....
After the alien killed alex I had to call the tram or train or whatever it is and when I pushed the call button the music changed in a very scary way, so I ran back to my hiding spot and heard the alien moving and walking around and when the music died down and stopped so did the the alien's movement....I've never been so scared to move in my life, started moving to the tram door while crouched to minimize noise and the ...
I played the game last night, the atmospheric setting makes the tension unbearable and will have you jumping at every little thing thinking its the Alien nearby somewhere...I nearly dropped the controller when one of the doors opened by itself behind me (this was only like 20min in) and I turned around just to see a dark hallway and no I didn't go down that hall...lol
I stopped playing because i had to get up for doctor appt, gonna continue playing again tonight.
I think it goes to preference, either you'll like it or you won't just like any other game....lol
IMO, i think the The Crew can give FH2 a run for its money.
I was on the fence about this game myself but after playing the beta this a day 1 buy for me, really like the customization and tuning of the cars and also like how you drive from state to state and completing mini challenges to help earn experience and XP to level up your car etc...
I thought the game wouldn't have a single player mode but there was some type of a story mode in the beta, maybe that just for the beta i'm guessing but either way it's fine.
I'm still getting the game and don't mind the delay, if it helps make the game better than i'm all for it....the beta was cool, looking forward to the next one in November.
"The Xenomorph being generally unscripted sounds/looks awesome - because it's not as scary if you think you know when and where the Xenomorph will strike, constantly being on the edge is what makes a survival horror."
Exactly.........Not knowing when and where the alien will try to get you will have anybody's nerves and fear on edge 100x over and having you scared to move anywhere because even if the alien shows up on the tracker it doesn't mean it's go...
same here
The article is 100% correct, the playing experience will have you coming back for more no matter how many times your nerves get shot and your chest hurting from your heart over beating from the panic induced fear trying to stay alive.
