I think that may be the main motivator.

I can't wait for the next trend where they remaster the remastered games haha. Really liked seeing Res Evil 1 get another remaster. But it was essentially the same game as the Gamecube remaster. What they need to do is focus on games that really need the remastering and get today's generation into some of the older console games.

What's that about?
Uncharted 4 tops my chart. May actually compel me to get a ps4. If Fallout 4 hits PS4, which I'm assuming it will, that's another huge reason. I think PS4 has a lot to look forward too. A bit more than Xbox One. Not that I'm counting them out.
I'm a PC gamer. So I wholeheartedly agree with you. The consoles can't compete. I was mearly commenting on screen captures I saw. I will be personally playing it on PC.
What are you running?
In truth, they're all essentially equal hardware wise. Both sony and microsoft make a concerted effort to use almost the exact same hardware. So your right, it's probably just personal opinion and the images are the same quality haha.
Looks amazing on Xbox One. I was checking out comparison shots from each console. For some reason Xbox One looked better than PC to me lol. How the consoles have caught up.
Preach my friend haha. I know a lot of generations probably say their games or even music were better than the last. But ours were. The games you mentioned were my formative years. I look at what my nephew plays. All action games with limited stories and so much easier than what we had. I want to see a ff tactics 2 or (and I know this isn't RPG) a good resident evil game lol.
So many subpar RPG's the last few years. Hoping the genre is about to get a major boost. Big fan of FF XV for sure. And indie's getting into the business? More power to them.

I'm excited for Tomb Raider. The resurrection and reinvention of that series was amazing. I'm with Bigpappy. Been out of the FF game for a while. Since 9 really. Would love if XV get's me back in.

I hope that's the direction they're going in. Resident Evil 2 is on the top of most people's list. At least the people I know. I loved that game so much.
