Haha, how wrong can one be? The texture technology is one of the best parts of the idtech 5 engine, and I would say it's actually the animations that bring down the overall impression a bit. And it looks nothing like Cod, which is based on the last generation of idtech.
My opinion is release it ASAP. DICE games are always buggy anyway. It's like with Bethesda games, they're buggy but u can't help loving them anyway.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Steam support which the ps3 probably will have and the 360 won't. That's another major reason to favour the ps3 version over the 360.
Smartphone gaming is a joke... for now. When/if more phones have real controlls, like xperia Play, they could be a serious option to Nintendos and Sonys handhelds. The hardware in modern phones is getting pretty strong.
You're right, of course. Atmosphere is something very induvidual. For me the opening scene in Zelda: A Link to the Past where Link wakes up, gets out in the rain, into the castle and finds his uncle there who dies/falls asleep.
I'm not sure how many games actually tries to focus on their tunnel atmosphere.
By your logic Tetris should be nominated for its unique block atmosphere.

In a way I'm glad it's not a huge success. Too many people buying it would mean too much focus on casual stuff from the developers, which is in conflict with my intrests.
As a 3D-programmer I can't do anything but agree with what Notch says. I've been thinking about the problem of the insane amount of data needed to do something like this all along. Obviously a scam. Also, the 1 byte of data that notch mentions that would be needed to save the translation of an atom is very optimistic.
I'm just sad that they removed the co op from r2. Had so much fun with it, and there's really nothing else like it out there.

Uncharted 1 is a great game, but I wouldn't call it a must-have. Uncharted 2 most definitely is though. If the third one is as much of an improvement as the second was over the first, it's going to be the best game ever :)
I'm on a 6870 as well. Considering getting another one for crossfire just to be safe though.
