I can understand that. Not every human being on this planet is meant to love GTA. Personally, I'm more into RDR than GTA series. It's just a matter of setting, premise, atmosphere.
And I'm too more interested in Watch_Dogs than in GTA. Just my taste though.

The recent leaked footage is most probably from the Xbox 360 version.
Culture is not equal to violence, gore, vaginas or penises.
Pushing limits in games is about telling mature stories (and adult sex isn't exactly mature). That includes topics like family issues, children soldiers, corrupted politicians, love (but not the kind of love you're used to see in the Twilight saga), or even religion. And that's not something you often see in games - most of them tell stories about Americans rescuing whole world from the alien attack. And ...
Visuals are definitely the most prominent factor that separates one generation from another. But it doesn't necessarily define the "next-gen" gameplay - as for that, only things like a very well scripted AI behavior, destructible environment or advanced online technologies can lay down the modernity of one title.
You won't believe how much ship I don't give for this game.
With side-missions it's supposed to last 4-5 hours.
Speaking about the technical facts (or should I say rumors?), the game's setting (Gotham City) is supposed to have one of the most impressive level of detail, according to Game Informer. It also, supposedly, has:
- cut scenes all done in-game
- character polygon count equal to whole Arkham Asylum environment
- Batman's clothing realistically reacting to wind and movement
Among more... seems kinda too beautiful to be true.

Game seems average. I can't get what's the hype about. I suppose everyone is a graphic whore. Everybody cares only on the looks. Everybody lies, everybody's blind.

Each to his own. 720p is perfectly acceptable for me (maybe because I've never played any 1080p game on my HDTV). Though, anything lower than that makes me little mad. 640p on Red Dead Redemption made the game look so blurry... I'm not sure if it was because of that low resolution or some crappy blur applied. Perhaps a combination of both.
Damn, I would like that art book. I love Shinkawa's style.
If they want to attract some positive attention, they should constantly inform us about the development progress of their exclusive titles. Can't remember when was the last time I heard of Quantum Break, and I certainly don't even know anything about Fable Legends. Anything will do.
How about cancelling this dildo-level comedy for 13-year-olds...
