I don't like this practice. It's unfair to people who really want the console at their original price and to enjoy the launch, only to be stymied by capitalist fools who are just out for a profit. I'd rather free online gaming, even if it did have ads. Thank goodness when I return to PSN, I won't have to worry about fees or ads, although, I may purchase a PS+ sub for the year. I've done it for 3 years on XBL. Might as well give Sony a shot. RIght? :P
I really think you need to inform yourself more about Personal Computer Gaming. I mean, just last year I was dumb about the subject too, but after being with someone who is all about it and consoles too, might I add, I have become empowered with knowledge about a trove of information regarding PC gaming;
Misconceptions about having to upgrade every year, benchmarks, hardware sales, refreshes, waiting patiently for cost effective purchases and so much more.

The title is rather misleading. PS4 CAN handle DRM, but Sony nor the gamers who intend to purchase it, do not want it. Title should read: Why PS4 does not want to handle DRM (because it's up to publishers)IMHO
It will be very interesting to see how the next gen systems will be "emulated" since both are x86
