MS was trying to put Blu-Ray in a premature coffin by coughing up a billion or two to back HD-DVD.
PS3 trojan horse overruled that. Now, irony at it's best. Xbox One will have the "blu-ray" logo on the box.
I have one simple reason why I don't like celebrities in games... balloned budget.
Money that could have went directly into the design. Example: more time to add things and, or polish, refinement, Etcetera.
MS trying to hold back greatness. Good for them, because once the first party games boot 3rd parties, visually, into another galaxy, they will have no choice but to step it up or be made to look like greedy fools.
I understand you need to spend money to make money, that's fine, but MS takes this to another level.
Also, on a side note, what is up with the cheering of these practices?

Cerny's been in the industry for years. I doubt he would gimp the gameplay. Especially when gameplay meant everything, like back in the 8 bit era.
Sony should do their homework when it comes to these types of things. Twitch is superior to Ustream in a way I cannot even describe, it's just more reliable, if anything.
Can't wait to get this on PC and PS4.:)
Looks like publishers are doing what Hollywood is doing.. remakes and remakes. *eyeroll*.
On a side note, I do hope it's good, because I enjoyed the original, tons!

Don't forget some retailers were going as far as making faq-sheets about what the Xbone entailed after purchase, and handing them out to potential customers.

Basically no one wanted it because the practice could spill unto other consoles, making this an industry standard. Your lost features for Xbox One are a necessary sacrifice if that insures that does not happen.
Still, Microsoft could have left those features in. I'd think twice before giving reluctant support to any corporation such as Microsoft. That same bit goes for Sony, if they ever pulled a stunt like this, I'd drop them like a bowling ball from a wet paper bag....
They need to focus on these three things that seemed watered down this gen. Gameplay, A.I, Physics. a bonus would be music, because I haven't really heard many memorable gaming soundtracks this "gen".

@John Dread, I agree with your comment below, but! to counter your statement, see EA. many games, mainly their sequels, after attaining "good sales" then increasing budget astronomically, then expecting 5+ million unit sales.
Jimmy Sterling put this into great perspective when he ripped into triple AAA games, a term I hope gets ground up into dust and spread over the black sea, like the ashes of someone who died before their time.
