I need clarification on something. What does rumble have to do with it? Dualshock 3 rumbles. You forgot the vast improvements in detail and color. Cars are even more rusty and dilapidated. I'm not saying it's a bad looking game or a bad game in general, but let's not act like the tweaks, yes tweaks, are more profound than they actually are.

Well that explains it. Give it time and you'll notice there are equal haters to all platforms here. However, the Xbox fans are more vocal with their whining, where the PS fans look for the littlest thing to attack the 360 over and Wii fans just laugh because there is not point is arguing sales numbers with them. DS and PSP fans are excluded. simply because there really isn't anything to complain about.

Aren't games supposed to be fun? How fun would a game be with nothing but halved StormTroopers and *insert random Star Wars enemy here*? You'd prefer a game of 1 hit kills? 1 animation? 1 move?

While I'll agree Viva Pinata and Kameo were rather enjoyable, they flopped commercially. Unfortunately, good games don't always sell well. Just ask Okami...

I assumed he implied you could purchase a 360 for $179. With the Arcade being $279, I used incorrect math to factor in the remaining monies needed for a 360 purchase.
The thing is, it's really not that interesting. Reason being (and you mentioned it in your post), it's a fluke. If Tales hadn't been released and there was that kind of jump, I would totally agree. But as with ALL JRPGs released on the 360 in Japan, the sales increase for 1-2 weeks, then drop back down to a little over 1K. Case in point- Eternal Sonata, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey and now Tales (all bundled BTW).

I agree. However, his statements could have been applied to the PS2 2yrs into its life. Or the original Xbox. It's an interesting read, but I feel it's still short sighted. The PS2 is on, what, year 9? I'm pretty sure SCE is making enough money off the PS2 now to reminisce about the days when they were the bleeding gash in the side of Sony. I think the PS3 will be no different.
