I'm hoping to get several blu-ray movies this Christmas, and they will be my first (even though I've had my PS3 for about half a year now).
I really don't understand all the technical stuff, but it sounds good, and it's nice to know that the PS3 is the best blu-ray player on the market.
Can't wait for Dark Knight, among others (Wall-E, Transformers, etc.)
That list is just idiotic. Can't think of a better way to phrase it.
how I'm supposed to divide my time between White Knight Chronicles, Final Fantasy XIII and FF Versus XIII?
I enjoy the threat of failure in a game, as it makes success that much more rewarding... It isn't that complex of a concept and certainly doesn't warrant an entire article.
I simply can't enjoy games that offer no challenge, especially when I'm paying $60 each for them.
The article is all speculation.
They prefer the PSP 3000, yet they concede that the DSi has better games. Makes no sense to me. I have an ipod, why the heck would I need all that multimedia junk on my handheld gaming device (emphasis on the word "gaming").
Sarah Palin isn't sure what the Nintendo Doctrine is.
How exactly is Final Fantasy XIII going to work on the 360? It's either going to be significantly downgraded from the PS3 version, or players will have to switch the disc every two hours.
And by the way, it's just a prediction, but the 360 and PS3 versions will not be released simultaneously.
Was it really necessary to mention that the graphics of the Wii version are not as good as the other versions? These comparisons are such a waste of time on the part of these writers.
I had a lot of fun with the LOTR action games from the last gen, and this looks like it will be all of that and more. It's gonna be great!
@ JsonHenry: I noticed that for all the reasons you listed for preferring the 360, you never even mentioned the games.
I respect anybody who disagrees with me, but I prefer the PS3 because it has far better games (IN MY OPINION), and plays blu-ray.
People can keep pointing to the Xbox 360 sales and saying that the market has decided, but by that logic you'd have to admit that the Wii is the best console. Sorry, but other than Mario Galaxy and Twilight Princess, t...
Microsoft is far and away the least innovative company on the market. They pride themselves in stealing PS3 exclusives (you saw E3 this year), and everything else they've produced has been a knockoff of something else.
Lips, the use of Avatars, that upcoming level creator game... Anybody insisting that MS is innovative is simply foolish.
Is that the Japan release date or did they move the North America release date up from March 13? This makes a huge difference for me, because my birthday is on the 11th...
@ Paranoidmonkey: I thought Resident Evil 4 was far from a mindless shooter. In fact- and it might just be me- it took a lot of strategy for me to beat the game. From the way the game plays with your mind to the necessity to conserve ammo, I thought it was tough.
Plus, the various enemies (particularly boss fights) were varied and it took some thought to bring them down. Contrast this with the bosses of Resistance 2 and Gears 2, which require no strategy other than to pump them...
GoW2 is to gaming what The Da Vinci Code is to literature. The masses love it, but there simply isn't much substance. It's a mindless shooter that satisfies people's thirst for blood and gore. It's just dumb.
how come The Last Remnant for 360 was so buggy? It's unplayable!
They basically ignore the Playstation 3- the company's biggest fan base- and shift their "efforts" to the 360. On top of that, all of their games have seemed rushed or simply bad.
If they weren't producing such terrible games, I'd say that they should start paying more attention to the PS3. Instead, I'm more interested in what other developers can do. White Knight Chronicles and The Witcher look very promising.
If the Wii had a few more big games to go along with Mario Galaxy and Twilight Princess, I wouldn't have sold it to get a PS3.
My roommate has a 360, and it has been even worse than the PS3. People say that the 360 has gotten all the RPGs, but unfortunately they've all ranged from dull to awful.
If you're not a shooter fan, and I fall under that category, then you're screwed, plain and simple. I just can't get into the mindless shooting (Gears of War 2 and Resist...
Anyway, in my opinion this has been a terrible generation of games so far, for all 3 consoles. Most of the RPGs have been boring, and if you don't like shooters then you're screwed.
IMO the two best games of this gen are Mario Galaxy and Twilight Princess. Other than those two, the Wii is completely devoid of good games, and it's pretty much the same for the other two consoles. Baten Kaitos would be a huge help.
It's surprisingly refreshing to read a gaming article that is purely positive.
