Because if Microsoft likes money (more than customers), and they have consoles that cost less to make than to buy.
Sony cares about customers (more than money) so they use higher quality parts and a good console.

Last time I checked, the original Xbox wasn't a 'wide' audience, it was the ps2. (I have 2 xbox originals with 2 Halo 2s, 2 halo 1s, and 2 halo 3s (one of them being legendary edition)
Halo IS overhyped, personally, I had more fun with killzone 1...

And they should make a PC O/S (either that or pay google to make one) that is specificly for the ps3
I think it's funny when people say 'add phone support and compete' when it already has phone support, and it's free
