The xbox has like 5 square games now and the ps3 has one. Considering their huge fanbase in japan is being ignored. If micrososft isnt writing checks than they have the stupidest ceo's in the history of gaming.

I have to be honest the reviews made me not buy it. I was shocked level 5 made a bad game especially after rogue galaxy. I am definately picking it up now though.
Anyone remember rogue galaxy for the ps2? I would love a sequel for that game.
Apparently the game saves only actual gameplay time which does not include cutscenes. So it very possible th game is at least 10-12 hours. At least thats what I read at ign.

I have been a jrpg fan for about 18 years and I have to say ff13 is not a jrpg. Alot of the complaining about the game is coming from long time fans like me who see the game evolving into something completely different. I think the game is enjoyable but it feels more like an action/adventure game. I am at the end of chapter 9 and I have yet to see basic staples of the jrpg genre.

I think this has to do more with the high cost of everything in the uk.
The ps3 is more than double the cost of arcade 360. The younger gamers just cant afford the ps3 yet.
If you include japan it will be at least 80/20 favoring ps3. But I wonder what this means for versus.

I dont blame the 360 I blame square-enix. If they cut the towns,npcs,backtracking,side missions, and side bosses because it didnt fit on the 360. Then they should have known that from the beginning. This is in no way the 360s fault. The development of the game was entirely in the hands of square. If the game was modified to play for both systems then shame on square for selling out. Cant really blame microsoft for heating up the competition.

LOL at leygo Im a fanboy? Yea I hate my elite 360 and my 60 gb ps3 hasnt seen ff13 yet. I had ff13 preordered for 6 months I had that game on tues morning. The nintendo situation was bad though. I have a vhs from those days showing ff6 rendered in 3d for the n64. I remember nintendo stating that square was gonna use a 128 mb cartridge and the games were gonna be $100 or more. This situation is looking very similar.
What makes even less sense is the reason they left Nintendo was because the n64 would not have enough storage space. Now 15 years later they decided to go backwards.
Lost odyssey did it with 4 discs I assume square can do it with 6 discs. Since disc swapping isnt a big deal that should be ok right? I would definitely pick the 6 discs instead of a bad game. Let microsoft foot the bill.

Are you serious? Or are you in complete denial? The game is nothing like past final fantasys. The towns, side missions, npcs, side bosses are all gone. Is this your first final fantasy?

The ps2 was a pain to develop for too. The reason the ps3 is lacking in the jrpg department is because of huge financial support Microsoft gave to namco, square, and mistmaker. If anything the huge disc space and required harddrive make the system more capable of delivering huge worlds with beautiful graphics.
Without namco, mistmaker and square the 360 wouldn't have sold 100 consoles in japan. As a matter afact I bought my first 360 for lost oddysey.
