The whole thing is that both Microsoft and Sony have to plan for the future. So they are gonna give themselves as much wiggle room as possible, which is the only reason why I think this rumor might be true.

The problem is that these developers still had SUCCESS on the Xbox platform.

People act like Microsoft took all the indie devs into a room and beat them up. Talk to the guys that made Super Meat Boy...they have a very successful career now, and a lot of it is from the success on XBLA.
This argument can go either way.

I like the way it is set up now on 360. I know when I go into the indie section I know its not monitored and that i could run into game breaking bugs.
Microsoft and Sony need some way to monitor this. Having a truly open platform sounds great, but I will never go back to Android because all of the crap apps that get passed because its an open platform. Not to mention apps...
