If the consoles life span was to be 2 years I'd agree, but this is a 6-8 years cycle...they are far from doomed.

a console that just had a 200% increase is far from failing.
If windwaker released and they saw no difference then sure, that's an issue, but Nintendo moved more consoles by releasing an hd remake of a game....far from failing.

If you dont have a headset plugged into the controller, which you wouldnt without the adapter, it would come through the headset.
I literally never thought about the Kinect being the Mic with my turtle beach. I mean...thats really cool as long as the quality is good.
My buddy has one of those wireless headsets but the chat part is wired. He will be happy to see this.

Ubisoft, like many others, expected there to be more games from Nintendo to move Wii u units, when that didn't happen, Ubisoft had to make the choice.
If Legends was released only on the Wii U, it would of bombed hardcore.
Legends problem is the price. I am not saying its not worth the $60, but it is a hard sell for any full priced 2d platformer unless you name is Mario.

Many people had multiple ps2s as well... Those things broke after a few years as well.
The reason specs are being talked about so much is because its all we have to go on besides trailers and gameplay.
Once the consoles hit, and people can get them in their own hands, the talk will die down quite a bit.
There will always be that group that thinks because the PS4 is better on paper, it will simply be better in every way than Xbox One.
It comes down to software. Always has, always will.
