95 percent of all Xbox 360 games run just fine off of 1 DVD disc. But next generation they will either need to use Blu-Ray or another type of high capacity storage for their games. Digitial Distribution hasn't replaced disc based games yet.

How long has Sony been in the video games business? If my memory is correct it has been since 1995. How many studios have they purchased in that time or built?
Give Microsoft a chance to build or acquire their own software development studio's. First and foremost Microsoft is running a business. They have to be profitable. It's going to take time to get to the level of Nintendo or Sony's internal software development support.

UC1, LBP, MGS4, RFOM, Motorstorm were all bundled games to inflate sales. Plus several of them also did a greatest hits promotion. The point that AtiElite is trying to make I think is that PS3 exclusives don't sell 1-2 million in their first week like a Wii/360 exclusive will. The second point being that KZ3 sales have really stagnated as of late so the hopes of the game selling over 3 million aren't very high. As this rate getting over 2 million will be tough...
PS3 fanboys are Hippocrates. Plain and simple. You can't argue with them because their logic is flawed and they argue purely on emotion.
I swear if the PS4 did have some improved version of Kinect/Eye-toy they would be singing the praises just because it had a Sony logo on it. Just like how they said Move is so good but the Wii-mote is a gimmick.

Every negative comment about Gears or positive comment about Uncharted comes from some PS3 owner who still feels the need to defend their choice of console purchase.
1.) They waited a year after the 360 launched.
2.) Paid $600.00 for basically the same graphics as a $400.00 console.
3.) Got stuck with horrible game selection for the first year.
4.) Waited and are still waiting for PSN to catch up to XBL.
5.) Got online network hacked and taken ...
Sony is struggling to break even with their price points now. Not to mention the costs of giving PSN away for free. They are reduced to bastardizing software sales to try to get people to buy the PS3. Not to mention they are also bundling PS3's with HDTV's.
We won't be seeing a $199.00 price point from Sony any time soon. Even if they did drop the price they won't make up the loss on software sales because people who buy PS3's now are either replacing exis...

On topic. It makes no sense for either Microsoft or Sony to run their videogame business separate from the parent company. At the end of the day they all figure into the profit/loss numbers no matter how you slice it.

The PS3 is almost 4 years old now and has been at a decent price point for the past year. GT5 will appeal to the hardcore racing sim fans. I'm pretty sure most hardcore Sony fans have already purchased a PS3 for MGS4, GOW3, UC2, etc... Especially if we go by the same logic that most Microsoft fans already purchased a 360 for Halo or Gears. So at this point we are seeing sales go to the really late adopters and people purchasing multiple consoles.

Sony is just one of the members of the Blu-Ray Disc Association. Just like Sony can license any version of Windows to run on it's PC's. Microsoft can license Blu-Ray to run on any of it's hardware.
