It's a compulsive issue no different than buying alot of games, but not playing them. Or constantly checking your phone/ email for text or messages.
People find satisfaction in responding to every thread that includes something they don't like just because it's a means for them to engage in online activity. Their comments create an almost guaranteed response in which they can engage in. I wouldn't be surprised if they're actively refreshing the comment...
And your comment proves you don't understand what makes gameplay unique. Especially among a sea of same-y stuff... point, shoot, explode things, wash rinse and repeat.

I get what you are saying with the "science is science" statement.

It's funny because these same developers will complain that people only want "Nintendo" games on the console.

I believe that one of the reasons devs focus some much more on visuals is because it's the most easiest thing to improve on.
For them to think of new ways of gameplay is the most obvious of challenges they face. Just look at how many games out there that are too similar.
