Oh, cry me a river people who say Xbox 360 is a rip-off too. If paying next to nothing for a machine that plays many of the greatest games this generation is a rip-off, then just about everything is a rip-off.
Consoles in general give a lot back for your money. If you want to buy a 360 just for Halo 4, you're still not wasting all that much.

Anyway, I do in fact like both Forza and GT, and I gotta say, Horizon looks and plays amazing. It really does set itself apart from 3 and 4 so I wouldn't call it milking just yet.
The fact that they'll be released later, that there's something called "moore's law", and that there's a market for hardcore gamers on console heavily suggests that PS4 and 720 will be more powerful. Every specs rumor so far agrees. Also, take a look at some of the game engines that are aiming for PS4, 720.
Wii U isn't all that much more powerful because of the control system. Are you guys really expecting three consoles relying on a new control...

I think the scale in itself has already been done on console: Just Cause 2, Fuel etc. PS3 also has MAG and a few other MMOs that do sit quite well on the console. I don't see why at least the PS3 wouldn't be able to run at least a slightly reduced version. Another thing: My lap top is able to run Planetside on decent quality. My lap top is fairly powerful, but it's still not quite a PS3.
If you only look at the pictures, I agree consoles would be able to do that. But behind the pictures are some serious, raw scale. Maybe PS3 could do it. Not 100% sure, but maybe.

That particular element is vastly superior to Brawl. The rest of this vs Brawl I'd say comes down to taste.

Then in the last second Jak would come in and shoot the father. Then Sly would steal the kid's possessions, the kid would get really angry and swear revenge on the PlayStation characters, hence becoming Krat...
Still have a thing for the original. It felt so pure and refined. The others are more chaotic, but by all means 2 and 3 are some fantastic games too.

I admit I miss a few of the elements you mentioned. Lock on in particular, but hey, DMC is good for some new stuff now too. I thought the juggling/combo stringing was improved in many ways.

99% of the games? Factually incorrect. And I wasn't aware quantity was what mattered anyway. What if you really want the new Halo? Also, you can't play them for free. You still have to pay for the game, and then you can play the online games for free.
You're right it makes more sense for YOU. Which is my point to begin with. Me, I can't pick a favorite, so I went for both. (and scratched Wii :P)
