Then Xbots say 60fps will be tacked on, and that the extra detail that they so vehemently denied the existence of is now really gone.

Nintendo's arrogance has gone through the roof! After a little temporary fad sale, they decide they can outsell PS2! They won't last long, it's their arrogance that brought them down in the first place. Their arrogance, and Sony's competence. Looks like history is repeating itself.

Before this at E3 they even had the nerve to say 360 was undeniably the most powerful console on the planet. They forgot to add 'from November 2005-November 2006'

First off, they can't afford a $100 price cut if they want profitability like they said - Halo 3, GTA4, Holiday season will bury them into billions more worth of debt in the entertainment division.
Secondly, they would have announced it at E3.
Thirdly, it's 100 Canadian dollars. How would the Canadian retailer receive USD prices? Maxconsole seems to have f***ed up, because PS3 is 499, and 450 in Canadian $ I believe.

Also, the 80GB will probably just drop to take the 60GBs place at 499 like I've been saying the entire time when 60GBs disappear.

PSP 2000 (stupid name) will be the one people want - have we assumed the PSP will just be 169 like the old one, and the bundles/value packs are 199?
This is the same guy who works in Europe - i.e. does not look at USA affairs, and said PS3 would sell 5 million with no games, and that the first PS3s were manufactured in Europe.
Furthermore, he was saying it to try and make the Euro strategy not seem so bad, to shift the spotlight from him.

1) Never will be able to reach PS2 levels.
Reasons:
-It won't have as long a life span, and is not at a fast enough rate to sell 120million in a shorter time frame
-It's got all the makings of a fad
-It has and will continue to have weak 3rd party support.
-Casuals are not non-gamers. Casuals DO buy Gran Turismo, GTA, Halo. Casuals buy hardcore games, they just buy movie licences etc and play them less than the hardcore. Casuals by and large HATE Wii. They ...
For the rest of the gaming world, Playstation is holy. The price is the ONLY deterrent. Look at how quickly they sold with just a 100 price drop.

The point is Elite is purposely in short supply, as is Wii - but the latter is higher demand.
Now PS3, in full demand is sold out at Amazon, putting it in the same league as Wii (obviously not in sales, just in comparison), which is I guess the "good" kind of sold out. Furthermore, PS3 is not purposely in low supply. 60GBs were packing up shelves, but will probably be shipped less and less as the 80GB launches and drops to 500 soon to replace it.
20GB has not been seen since pretty much the start of this year. It was an attractive buy at 500. The only price point was 600 for the majority of PS3's life for the masses in NA, where the price cut is happening.
60GB drops to 500, people start gobbling it up.
There is no 80GB model. Once that comes out, it will look like a bundle at 600 (game+console+20GB more).
Your average joe will have seen PS3 at 600 for 60GB for ages, and will consider this,...
If it makes them cheaper for people, sure.
Then when 60GBs are gone, 80GBs will take their place at 500 or a lower price point, permanently (until it drops in price again).
