...on the end user. Some (probably very few) are in love with their PSP and their old PSOne and PS2 games, so the PS3 may give them more value. Comparing solely next-gen (now current-gen) attributes like more titles, online connectivity and content, I think 360 delivers more, but it still comes down to personal preference.
I'm just saying don't let year 1's graphics comparisons sway your decision if you're on the fence (or fuel your fanboyism); there is barely any difference....
Compare which one provides more entertainment value. That should be the most important metric.
Even if 360 is across the board marginally better than the PS3 in graphics at the moment, it's still only MARGINALLY better. Go for the one that lets you have more fun.
"lets wait until a year or so."
No no, let's not. MSFT and Ninty should leave the game right now. No one should even consider competing. MotorStorm = "proof." End of story, chapter closed. Time to give up. Don't even try. Apparently, MotorStorm on the PS3 is the decider.
Who says that? Seriously? "We have proof?" Who hosted the show, Kutaragi?
*double-take*
Anyway, it does look to be a pretty pretty game from the trailer. Hopefully it remains more true to the RPG aspect rather than 3rd person shooter. We don't need a whole slew of new TPS's just b/c GoW came out nicely, just like we didn't need a lot of not-so-great FPS's after the Halo revolution.
Agree with everything except that Sony has a "huge chance of success." Just a wording technicality, but I'd say they have huge potential for success (as well as failure), but they're not taking a chance with Kutaragi at the helm. Rather, they're placing their bets on Hirai.
You can only speculate as to who in Sony to "blame" (Kutaragi or somebody else) for pushing Blu-Ray in the system, but finger pointing aside it is now Hirai's problem child. Hopefully he'l...
When is Blue Dragon expected to release in US and UK?
The wire cable reel on the front of the Warthog looks shoddy.
When "Metal Gear Solid 2" went from PS2 to Xbox as "MGS2: Substance," it certainly got a graphical upgrade. I was hoping for a port of "Snake Eater," but that didn't happen. Could we see a crossover for "Guns of the Patriots?" I highly doubt it, but certainly hope for it. I think some PS2 -> Xbox ports had a facelift, but it wasn't a large factor in commanding marketshare in either direction.
I like the football analogy. As for wh...
What irks me is that some people take what "professional reviewers" say as a fact of life. Some argue for different sides for the same game - where is the "fact" there? For some, it will really come down to matter of personal opinion as to which has better graphics. At some point, you could say definitively that one set of graphics are better than the other based on several factors, i.e. polygon count, shading ability, layers/textures, etc., but even then it comes down ...
About 2 minutes for me.
MGS was hoping for Viva Pinata what Paolini has going for Ergaon now: mass appeal across multiple media. Apparently, Pinata is the better game, but doesn't have the same demand as Eragon.
I'm confused with *The great 1*...are his comments meant to be satirical? If so, they really went over my head the first time around. But if he's serious...wow...
Games are all a matter of taste in the end, but regardless of which fanboy camp you're in I think anybody would be hardpressed to say that the PGR3 is a "really bad" game. You don't have to like it, but you have to admit it's a pretty well executed driving sim (or arcade, some would argue?).
Any possibility of uploading some of the game data from disc to the HDD so that you don't need to swap discs as often?
If Blue Dragon is indeed on 3 DVDs, that is certainly a setback for MSFT. I know people hate disc swapping, but I always thought of it as getting more (discs) for my money, and didn't really mind that much.
"Shouldn't the browser, even though maybe slow, be a positive point. Still can't go online, check my webmail, read the news headlines or anything like that on my X360."
I think it goes back to the author's main point that the PS3 does a little bit of everything, but doesn't do all of it well. And while the capability to surf the web is certainly an asset, it's still crippled in its current state.
A trend among the reviews out there don't declare the PS...
Does the Wii (in its instruction manual or packaging) provide any warnings about the potential for property damange/personal injury when using the Wiimote?
I'm gonna buy all three because I have unlimited monies, and I'm going out right now to get an Atari Jaguar. I don't care what ppl/newspapers say about it - True gamer 4 life!
Smack my Lynx up
Based on Seth's review, it seems that the already year old next-gen console is more formidable out of the box than Sony's new kid on the block. I'm sure the install base would have created more demand for the PS3 than the 360 if both launched simultaneously, but I wonder how soon the hype would have cleared and the better console would be declared "winner."
Naturally, the year's time difference prevents a true side-by-side sales comparison, but what is really disappo...
If you're faced with a loaded gun and won't fork over your money, you certainly deserve to be called stupid, and probably don't deserve a PS3 at all. To say that it warrants being shot is way off.
And carrying $600+ in cash is stupid as well.
If anything, those thugs deserve one to the head, and anybody who agrees with their actions.
This is what happens you develop video games period. Next gen, current gen, last gen, first-ever gen...virtually all video games have glitches. PS3 is just getting more heat for it b/c it's in the spotlight now. A launch title with a glitch? Is that unexpected? It's a nature of the business, not console specific.
It's is interesting how large companies can be battling each other fiecely in one division, and then leveraging each other in another. PS3 and X360 are going head to head, but in the PC world Sony is touting its new line of Vista compatible VAIO line.
They're really saying if you can't calm your face down and use the Wii properly, go out and play real sports. Losers.
