I don't think those car makers take out the engine of there vehicles to only sell it later if you want the "complete" experience( or make it so you can't have your friends test drive them.
people pirate because most games aren't with their price or by used or wait for great deals to get them. I mean why would you buy a game for 60$ that becomes unplayable(ps3/360 Skyrim) and have to wait months for the Dev to fix it.
Or you know it could be Developers are selling half finished games for full price and scamming gamers with DLC or online passes.

After reading a lot of the leaked script I don't expect much from ME3 story wise, and the marketing for ME3 is god awful.
