This is turning into a MONUMENTAL screw-up for $ony. This whole situation keeps deteriorating every few days. What next, they'll come out with an update telling us that they lost all the trophy data for every user whilst they backed it up to a new server; It wouldn't surprise me

Cod2 & Cod4 (PC) > ANY Battlefield game. But all the new cods are pretty bad, so are the bad company games though
Im talking online multiplayer, single player isn't important and is nowhere near as enjoyable as competitive online matches
It will be interesting to see if SOE servers are up before PSN. My guess is that they will be - because there is money involved for sony, whereas they provide PSN for free and dont really care about the PS3 users

No it wont. First of all: There will be soo many people trying to get online at once and download the update that the servers will crash. Secondly: Anonymous have promised to attack a 3rd time once the network is back online.

BF2:MC shits on both the bad company games. I hope they keep the PPM (Points Per Minute) system for rank, that means only the very best players in the world can have the highest rank. If you saw a 5 star general in bf2, you knew they were f***** good - all the mp games today just have ranks that dont mean anything at all, its all about who plays the game the most and has no life (15 prestigers on Bops for example)

Im starting to think this was an inside job by sony. This whole hacking situation could be used as a pretext to implement PSN as a paid subscrition service.
They are losing millions of dollars every day that PSN is offline. They could use it as an excuse and say, "we need to make it a paid service so we can provide better security for our customers". I don't trust them one bit; They have shown nothing but indifference to us PS3 owners, look how long it took them to admit...
I think it might be them announcing that PSN is now going to be a paid subscription service with all new features copied from xbox live. I wouldn't be surprised if they hacked PSN themselves, just so they could use it as an excuse to charge for it

Umm, no. Bad company 1 & 2 are horrible. BF1 and 2 are a completely different story though, I prefer CoD2 and CoD4 over both of them, thats not to say they are bad games - they are two of the best multiplayer games ever made.

Yes. Massive amounts of people trying to log on at once and download the update. I mean, PSN couldn't even handle it when the cod4 map pack was released - it crashed. I can't imagine how bad it will be with everyone scrambling to get online.
