Most definitely. It obvious that gamers have gotten live service fatigue and want more quality single player experiences. The 10+ live service games they have coming, I don't see most being successful except for the TLOU BR. They require too much manpower and that would take away from them making single player games.
Gotham Knights ruined the hype for his character. I hope SS makes him cool again.
Xbox fans were crying on Twitter yesterday about PS paying for exclusivity. Now look. At the end of the day, they should not be surprised, With the current marketshare Xbox has, it no surprise they would skip. It just not worth the resources for a small studio to port their games over.
Aside from Sony's Spider-Man games, Has any of Marvel's AAA console games actually been successful in the last couple of years? It seems like MvC Infinite, MUA3, Avengers, GoG, Midnight Suns all underperformed?
Justin uses a lot of words to say he wanted the security of a upfront check. Putting games Day 1 on Gamepass is a gamble. If the game blows up, you are missing out on hundreds or possibly millions of sales. On the other hand, if your game flies under the radar. That upfront check definitely will help to break even on the budget of the game. A plague tale requiem is a good example of Day 1 on Gamepass being a good thing. The game flew under the radar. Im sure that upfront check to launch day 1...
Im not surprised. The game debut at #17 on the UK game charts. It seems the people they let go were long term and senior employees. NFS unbound felt rushed. It a good game here but EA clearly rushed the title out. There was very little marketing and the game itself is lacking features that were in previous games. EA is to blame for this game failure, not Criterion.
This confirms my initial thought about the acquisition. Embrcer games clearly are not used to funding and making AAA games. Im worried about how things will go if this game underperforms.
Silly move by MS. They really shouldn't even have to offer that. COD staying on PS is more than enough.
''Ultimately, the fate of the games industry
and what it might look like in 10 – 15 years
isn’t actually decided by these mega corporations.
It’s up to the gamers. ''
I love this quote. Exactly how I feel.
If I had a penny for everytime I heard that.
Phil spencer is the new Todd Howard. Just lie after lie
Playstation has a much bigger market share in the UK than Xbox does. The vast majority of next gen Xbox users are on series s which is a digital system. UK chart tracks physical sales. You do the math.
They've lost an incredibly concerning amount of leads and senior level staff since Infinite launched. The game also isn't performing well. It is the 18th most played game on Xbox and the game peaked at 5000 players on Steam today. At this point, MS should end support for the game at the end of 2023 and just reboot the franchise. Halo seriously needs a GOW 2018 type reboot.
Just pick the game up later on a sale. From what I read from several reviews, the game can easily be fixed with some quality of life updates. The game itself isn't bad. It just the difficulty and realism direction when it comes to
the animations hurt the balance of the game.
Yes, PC gamepass. Not the steam version. Should have clarified that.
Also on Gamepass Day 1 with Xbox and PC Crossplay. Also has cross progression. Just thought I add that information.
Another amazing month for Gamepass. Rumors are also saying that Monster Hunter Rise is also coming to gamepass In January.
Microsoft is not going to be so nice anymore once this deal passes or fails.
There is currently a game dev shortage. Creating new studios just isn't possible or viable at this point.
Jim Ryan was literally quoted saying "I don’t want a new Call of Duty deal. I just want to block your merger.” This was confirmed By Lulu Cheng, An employee of Activision. Sony does not care about the 10 years. They were going to block this deal no matter what MS offered.
