I dont agree with somethings that MS does but I wont say the gaming industry got worst because of them.
In fact MS probably made Sony return to the PS1 and 2 days and not act like they did with the PS3.

MS also told Sony to tell fans that they need to work 2 jobs to afford a PS3
MS also told Sony to Remove Linux, BC and other features that came with launch PS3's

I buy most of my my game used so if I see Black Ops for the PS3 for $25 and no 360 version then I am buying it no matter how crappy the PS3 version is - same thing I did for FF13 I saw it for sell for $20 on the 360 and I bought it.
I am a cheap gamer but I saved thousands using this method.

A developer making money should be very important to you as gamer because with out money your favorite game might not get a sequel or your favorite developer could be forced to close down.
