So they say there is a new Xbox 360 Ultimate coming soon, reported by
Stuff Magazine to have Wi-Fi, HDMI, 320GB Hard Drive and HD DVD player.
Rumor is that Bill Gates will announce it in his last ever speech at
the CES Convention in Las Vegas. So do i predict Bill to make this
announcement? Is it just rumors gone out of control or is it a real
possibility?
I expect you have heard about the PS3 and
complaints about how unaffordable it was at $599. If a new Xbox 360
would have a whopping 320GB hard drive and HD DVD player, i would
expect it to cost at least that. I wouldn't see that price range to go
down well at all with consumers. Not only that but throw pies into the
faces of new 360 owners. And that brings me to my next point...
Would
it sell. Is it really possible that many people would buy a 360 at that
price when there are a lot of cheaper options available and clearly the
Wii is so successful because its affordable. And does anyone really
need that much storage on a console? Is HD DVD nearly dead anyway?.
Maybe but don't forget if Microsoft really did release games on HD DVD
as well as using it as a movie player, after saying DVD 9 was good
enough for games anyway, all the other 360 owners would have nothing to
play them on. Plus Microsoft would be putting their foot in their
mouths and Sony has done enough of that over the past year or two. If
HD DVDs only use was to play movies its best to leave it up to the
consumer to purchase the add-on.
Now of course i don't want to
go too deep with specs taken from a rumor in a magazine. That could all
be false but there still could be another 360 on the way, just not with
as high specs as 'Stuff' reports. But 4 SKUs on sale at the same time
is a bit too much to handle for the average consumer if all they want
is to play High Definition games. So will Gates announce a new
higher-spec 360? Unlikely. Normally when this happens we would have
more evidence of a new model as the 40GB PS3 did. We no doubt will find
out though on Sunday when he gives his last ever speech... so-long!

if they were going to announce the 360 ultimate, they would have canceled it now,
and they already working on the 360 ultimatum(aka the xbox 720) maybe it will be released in 2009,
and now back to the ultimate, m$ may not release the ultimate, but maybe they will license the 360 for toshiba(for a price of course) because it seems to me that toshiba doesn't know that its format is dead yet, maybe this would turn out for the good of the bots, m$ couldn't make a good hardware, maybe toshiba can get rid of the hardware problems, i would be happy for the bots if they get a non-rrod-able ultimate rrod machine, oops i contradicted myself a rrod-able ultimate xbox, damn the words won't come out... but you get what i mean..

How is the 360 graphics better than ps3. 360s graphics are on a compressed disc compared to the ps3 which is on a bluray disc that is uncompressed. I wonder if microsoft will adoopt sony's bluray disc. if so they will probably force them to pay a fee. Sony is the future and starting from here on out, sony's games will be noticeably better. Any arguements ?????????????????????????????? ????????? dont post anything up if your too fanboyish please!!! give me facts about the new 360 and its future abilities.
