Why I'll Probably Never Play Skyrim

I've tried and tried, but I still just don't care about this open world epic.

I love the elder scroll games, but the last two have been filled with glitches.

I finish all the last one, finish Skyrim's main story and only have the thieves guild left to finish up.

i cant get into games that dont have the online element to them...enjoy watching my kids play it!!! sharp looking game!!!

NukaCola5243d ago

Has kids that play a seriously mature dark M rated fantasy game.

Likes online gaming with other people only.

1. How old are you?
2. Creepy.

Age doesn't have anything to do with moral reasoning. And even so, morals differ from person to person; even if they are outside the majority's norms.

Also though he/she may refer to them as kids, they did not include the age. A kid is someone younger or less mature, so they can be 17 or 18.

Playing online strictly is a preference, as I mainly enjoy offline for the story's experience. I still play online, but do not look forward to it.

Stupid article.

Very long winded, but says "these types of games just aren’t for me" which is totally fine, like people have told him he is missing out, but that's his choice.

But then later says he got hooked for 15 hours strait on oblivion and had to put it down cause hes a completionist and it was too time consuming. So THAT'S why he wont play skyrim.

The reality is it's too addicting.... well.. cry some more, please. T_T

No_Pantaloons5243d ago

The writer clearly does like this type of game as that's why he couldn't limit his time with oblivion.
His problem of self control is not a fault of the game.

The main quest has taken some <10 hours, its the immense amount of side quests and exploration that pushes the game to 60+.
And that's what made it such a great bargain for gamers. It is however... optional.

In an age where large chunks of every game are taken out to be resold as dlc it should be praised for having so much content.

Sorry you didn't like my article, but at least get the facts right if you're going to post such a negative comment.

I did not put 15 hours STRAIGHT into Oblivion. I said total, which means over time.

Also, just putting cry some more only invalidates your argument. It's like ending a scuttle by sticking your tongue out and running away. If you love the game, that's great, but getting upset over this is only childish.

dead_eye5241d ago

I don't think there was an argument.

I think No_Pantaloons was just giving people a heads up that the article was not worth the time to read it.

Some people still like articles that have news for gamers on this website.

I liked the article. I feel the same way he does. Some games are just too big. Take too long to finish. I'm not saying that's a bad thing but I like to see a ending after some long hours of play time. It might be because I'm more of a 3D fighter gamer. Like Tekken Soul Calibur DoA. Not much into 2D fighters but play most for fun.

iistuii5243d ago

Just complete the main quest it doesn't take that long. I finished the main quest & there's masses to still do, but if you wanted to stop there you can having completed the games main story.

takohma5242d ago

I'll eventually give it a try. I'm trying to broaden my horizons on games these past 2 years

jc485735242d ago (Edited 5242d ago )

I also feel the same way about games like Skyrim, so I choose not to play it. I just don't like spending too much time on a game. Life is short, how many more 100 hours can you spend? I mean, it's ok if you do it a few times, but think like 10 games you've spent thousands of hours on each.

Megaman_nerd5243d ago (Edited 5243d ago )

I remember buying Oblivion because of all the hype and then only played it for like 3 hours and went to return it the next day. Now the same is happening with Skyrim but I'm not taking the bait again because seriously, I don't see any difference, both games look the same to me.

Elder Scroll is not my type of game and is not because they are too big but because they are too dull and boring. I like more fantasy and eccentricism in my games, I want them to be more unique like Yakuza, Metal Gear or Final Fantasy. Most western games look and feel too generic to me but there are exceptions like God of War and Uncharted.

they can't get a 14 year old game to run smoothly?

jjb1981156d ago

That's ridiculous, lol. I'm waiting for the guy that says its too cpu-intensive for the Switch 2. This game is old af and has been released like 17 times.
