Fallout 3 (PS3) Issues

GP Reports: "Fallout 3 might be one of the most anticipated games to hit the Playstation 3 platform this year, but unfortunately, many gamers have been experiencing problems playing it. We remember how many glitches and bugs Oblivion has when it was first released, and it seems that Fallout 3 has followed in those footsteps..."

I feel sorry for you and your fanboy fodder.

aiphanes6331d ago

LOL....

Why are Xbox people so bitter?

Harri44446331d ago

because they have nothing to play... and because they are losing the console war

Aclay6331d ago

I've put in over 6 hours of gameplay into Fallout 3 so far since I got it and I haven't had any problems or issues with playing Fallout 3 at all on my PS3.

During the beginning of the game BEFORE you go out of the vault and whenever you talk to people, there is some very noticable jagged lines on the characters when their faces come up close to the screen like Gamespot mentioned, however AFTER you go out of the vault, the jagged edges on characters up close when engaging in a conversation with someone are hardly even noticable.

Obviously Bethesda didn't develop Fallout 3 the same way that they developed Oblivion for the PS3 because Oblivion on the PS3 looked better than the 360 version and that's a FACT.

GiantEnemyCrab6331d ago

That was a fact for about 3 or 4 months, then Bethesda released a huge update for the 360 version which improved all the things they did in the PS3 version.

I've not had any problems in the 360 version and I've played about 5 hours so maybe it's not everyone having issues. Either way, Bethesda will release a patch and fix any lingering issues. They do a great job with after release support.

aiphanes6331d ago

Its not just the PS3 version.

sajj3166331d ago

Yup .... bottom line is that Bethesda needs to patch PC, 360, and PS3 versions. In the end, the gamer suffers. Fallout 3 was NOT ready.

Peter Griffin6331d ago

i kno not many ppl like GiantEnemyCrab, (sometimes including myself, eventhough i still secretly giv him bubbles so we can have some fun arguments here on this forum) but the guy made an excellent point just now. Why does he have 3 disagrees? Hate his opionions, not who he is as a person.

SullyDrake6331d ago

It's the least we deserve after the selfish Microsoft-exclusive DLC bullshit.

6331d ago
Raz6331d ago

I'm not knocking what is essentially a great game; but even Oblivion was more polished. Dead Space is a good example of a game that was released with the full-on polish - but Fallout looks like somebody decided to rush through post-production.

I hope an update is forthcoming, because I'm noticing numerous pathfinding issues, clipping issues, AI issues, auto-pauses when someone logs out of the network, and so forth.

Please, Bethesda; take the time to do things properly. You make great RPGs, so we'll wait patiently as long as you don't dawdle TOO much, a lá Sony with Home...

Stubacca6331d ago

The game is great on either console. I got it on PS3 and aint had issues except for pauses when friends sign-in/message me.
I'm not too bothered about the DLC. But I woulda liked trophy support. I want to know how to play XMB music, it's weird when you try to select it so I wanna know if it unlocks later or will be included in a patch...

Also, does it not bug anyone how you can easily get trapped in the game's terrain? More so than Oblivion and that sucks the most!

he has disagrees because hes been a troll for a long time, if you go around trolling be prepared for the consequences.

ultimolu6331d ago

...There are issues for the PS3, PC, and 360 for some folks.
Give me a break.

GiantEnemyCrab6331d ago

I must not be one of those folks because I've got about 5 hours into Fallout 3 and haven't noticed any of the problems described here.

Agreed though, I don't think any version is bug free. They will patch it like they patched Oblivion and this will all be forgotten.

ultimolu6331d ago

Exactly.
I'm getting the PS3 version next week.

Bathyj6331d ago

Is that it? The occassional freeze and a bit of screen tearing.

I was sure the PS3 version was eating peoples babies the way these stories keep going on about it. Jeeze.

TheExecutive6331d ago

The game runs fine, there are very minor bugs here and there but nothing to get upset about.

Would be nice if they had New Vegas ready as well, especially because of the show.

Hopefully this doesn't have the same performance issues as Oblivion Remastered.

cloganart52d ago

I haven't seen anything on these performance issues? What's been going on?

walken752d ago

Probably the Unreal Engine issues, I skipped it for that reason.

Snookies1253d ago (Edited 53d ago )

Throw in all the DLC as well, like Oblivion and I'll definitely bite. I recall having one trophy left to unlock on the PS3 version with 100+ hours in my save. When my save file got corrupted, lol. Very sad day.

To be fair though, Bethesda was trash at Playstation ports anyway.

Michiel198953d ago

all devs sucked at porting to ps3 for the first like 3 years because no one had experience with the cell architecture. Even 1st party took a long while to get proficient with it, the difference between uncharted 1 and 3 is massive for example.

Extermin8or3_53d ago

Oh oh oh I can do this too. GTA 7 will be made at some point in the future. Fallout 5 will enter development in the future too

jznrpg53d ago

Everyone there should know most gamers want New Vegas and Morrowind more than anything.

Christopher52d ago

Which is why we won't get them. Gotta keep floating "support this one and it might happen".

BlaqMagiq153d ago

Can't wait. Won't have to go back to my PS3 to play this when it comes out.

Fallout 3 remastered on the Nintendo Switch 2 is what we deserve, not the worst Fallout game

Fallout Day's disappointing news that Fallout 4 is coming to Switch 2 is a shame, as this 17-year-old entry is more deserving of a new port.

Why exactly do you think you deserve it??

Phoenix76125d ago

Fallout 4 isn't the worst game in the franchise. It's either Fallout 76 or Fallout BOS that's the worst.

gigoran8124d ago

PC and all other modern consoles never got a remaster of 3, but obviously the switch 2 was the tipping point to make it a reality... ahuh

1nsomniac124d ago

Meh, I thought 3 was garbage. I'm not a great fan of the franchise to be fair. They're like B-Movie films, really shallow and janky. 4 was definitely one of the better ones though.

UltimateOwnage124d ago

So the article makes a snippy entitled statement and acts like that is going to encourage a publisher to give them what they want. Okay.

Give us FO3 with all the dlc remastered like ESO. Load times faster, quality of life improvements, gun play improvements

I believe it shouldn't just be graphical they should make improvements where they can to make the game better. A simple face lift isn't what's needed

ZeekQuattro312d ago

Still my favorite one. I remember getting a digital copy of FO3 when I got FO4(XBO). It was nice to finally play a stable version of the game. Then when I got a Series S it was an even better expierence. Quick resume and FPS boost made it feel like a whole new game. Updated gunplay would be very welcome though. One of the few things FO4 did better.
