That's why I don't read reviews from sites like IGN. They are terrible. Look at Final Fantasy XIII. I think that got like an 8 or 8.9 or something. I can't see how anyone older than 5 could enjoy that garbage. Sites like IGN just cannot give a game that big a crappy score though.

I feel ashamed that I played FFXIII and not LO (yet)... In my defense of FFXIII, I thought there's no way this game could be this terrible.. I was wrong. There's just so much wrong with it and even the battle system so many journalists seem to like is so watered down is by far the worst I've seen in a JRPG ever. Who says I'll be getting a Wii U? They haven't really shown any games that would make me want to buy a brand new console, nor are there any signs any such game will come to the system. The Wii doesn't have many games that I really want to play and the focus on the Wii U doesn't seem to be very different. Buying a next gen console for 2 previous gen games just doesn't make sense.
Very true. Don't they use a heavily modified Unreal 3 engine? I suppose they're waiting for Unreal 4 if that's the case. They do have access to a significant workforce though to do this with the amount of money they make, and the fact that there are 2 Dev teams working on these games.
I recommend any hardcore and/or old school gamer just starts of with the higher difficulty in games. It's just so much more fun and rewarding than doing it on normal. It extends the games life and you get more out of it.

I hope they have games like The Last Story and Xeno before the end of the cycle this time. I feel like I'll be missing two great games now in a genre I love because getting a Wii now for just 2 games is pretty pointless. If they had games that big come out near the middle or beginning of the cycle then it would've benefitted Nintendo, me >.<, and possibly encouraged more third party development.
I'm happy they are trying to change things up a little. I wish they were going to have updated graphics/engine, but at this point it probably makes much more sense to save that for the NextGen. Hopefully this will be a step in the right direction for them. One thing they should focus on is sound. It's incredibly mediocre in all their games. If done right, this can add a huge dimension to the game, and it doesn't really require a new engine to do.
I'd say that JRPGs tend to be emotionally deeper with a much heavier emphasis on the story than most Western RPGs. There are obviously RPGs on both sides that don't conformt to this (like Mass Effect), but usually that is the case. The art style also sets them apart. JRPGs obviously tend to be heavily influenced by Manga and Anime style art, while Western tends to be gritty and realistic. They both have influenced each other in a massively positive way in recent years.

It looks like they are trying to make all their devices and software work together, under one umbarella. I think they are using the Xbox brand because that is where they'd had most success with similar efforts. That's where they are focusing their multimedia experience. It's probably a good move for them because you have the consumer trust built into the xbox brand already. Might as well take advantage of it.

couple issues here. Trust. If they cop out with the future DLC then they will lose a lot of support and fanbase which will work against them and lose them millions of dollars. They are not stupid enough to do this, especially when competeing with Activision. They don't want to lose the ground they just gained.
The weapons aren't better than anything you can get already. If you think otherwise, then you just don't know what you're talking ...
When people don't buy DLC we'll just see things get blamed on piracy, money spent on forms of DRM, and studios closing because these people really don't know what they're doing.
Also, the guns aren't OP. Give me an AEK, KOBRA, Heavy Barrel and foregrip and we'll see who wins. You (Blacktric) just think they're OP because a lot of people are using them, which they are doing because they're new.
Premium is better than Elite mostly because Elite has had a ton of problems. A lot of promised features were completely broken and I hear still are. Not to mention you only get them for the year. You'll probably have to pay more for anything...

Agreed. It's just poor business sense and decision making on things that should really just be common sense. It's like the THQ CEO or whatever he is wanting to change Saint's Row into GTA by making it more serious. These guys just don't have common sense in the video game market. I'm nitpicking, but the article is dumb so whatever, but the Balrog (Boxer)character is not racist nor stereotypical. It's based off a real person.. Mike Tyson. Hence why in the Japanese version he's called M. Bison (close to M. Tyson isn't it?). They changed his name to Balrog in the US so they wouldn't be sued. In the Japanese game Balrog is actually Vega (Claw), and Vega is M. Bison (Dictator). A bit confusing but there you go. Now you know more than the author of this ...
