The only thing you pay for is the single player. The MP is and always will be FREE. Like Warzone is FREE. You don’t even need Xbox live gold to play it. It is completely supported through MTX.

This is exactly the reason I am getting one! My kids are not bothered about 4K. They want to play the new games and they only have Hd TVs. For £250 it’s an absolute no brainer. I fail to see why you have dislikes. But then again, this is N4G

It’s because these days my friend people are so loyal to that plastic piece of equipment under TVs they forgo any ounce of logic and reasoning and take it personally when the bit of plastic the other company produces tries to create hype.

They are being held back by the PS4s CPU, whereas series S and X have the same CPU so that bottleneck is not as pronounced. I genuinely think that the S will cause some bottlnecking across all consoles due to the low memory bandwidth, it’s definitely not as easy as Microsoft are making out, but to what level will depend on how easy it is develop for and scale these games. Great games, unfortunately I doubt these will “define” the generation. Instead it will likely be Battle Royales (probably fortnite) and GAAS (either Destiny, Overwatch or Rainbow Six).
When I look back in 10 years time these are the games I will remember as these brought new experiences to the consoles (like them or hate them). A bit like I remember gears and call of duty for the PS3/360 era as this was the first time a console did competitive multiplayer properly.
He’s probably thinking that at a really good price he gets over a hundred games, some of them absolute quality AAA 3rd party titles and HOPEFULLY some great 1st party titles down the road, on a rotational basis keeping him/her satisfied. Ive lost hope with it. The community was once about enjoying the industry as a whole but that was a long time ago. Its about taking sides now. So sad
