"And that, in turn, was pretty quickly followed by a grasping of my hand over my mouth, some impressively loud swearing, and the hugging of a cat."
I just don't know where to begin with this.
If I'd read that on a blog that 1-3 people read it would make me angry. The fact that the US OXM employs this couch-sucker to write for them AND THEN PAYS HIM. #
It actually beggars belief.
Would you? Would you really? If you said it to me I would actually want to hit you in the eyes.
It is a stupid, childish way to speak/write. I can only imagine you are ten or younger.
Or the Express.... funny that...
What a thoughtless comment! Providing it creatively develops the characters and worlds that it has to date in its current 'intellectual properties' such as Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Star Fox and others then surely the many fans (new and old) of these classic interactive entertainment experiences will keep coming back for more.
Saying 'Nintendo needs a new IP' is akin to saying Ian Fleming was running out of ideas after his first 4 James Bond novels (hint: he wasn't, they just got be...
Otherwise the world might implode from the incessant whine of a million fanboys denied....
Tupperware was in the business of designing pie-in-the-sky future games consoles!
If I was forced to hazard a guess - I would say that Sony will release a PSP 4000 'refresh' later this year (with minor improvements to current model) and a new PSP 'mark 2' sometime in 2010 or 2011.
I have been given this info on good authority from un-named sources AT THE HIGHEST LEVELS OF TEH INDUSTREY (ie some drunken hack said it at a party once...)
It was 'are they better value (for money)'?
IMO games are over-priced, publishers should concentrate on putting out a £20 boxed product and - should it appeal to a big enough fanbase - expand the game with d'loadable content and new episodes a la GTA and Half Life...
Just a thought...
(Also, personally, I've never bought into the DVD or Blu-ray 'exclusive extras' add value myth - I just want to watch a movie ffs)
The problem is the price. As gamers we are all more than aware the PS3 is by far the best technology on offer, but there is a HUGE untapped market of folk out there than just see a price tag. The marketing job that SCEA done has been poor. I for one hope they get it together in 2009, but pulling stunts like this is verging on laughable.
Somebody just approve it! The suspense is actually killing me.
For the record - I am NOT a fanboy. I love my PS3 as much as my 360 and my Wii and my PC, for very different reasons. However, I think SCEA has made a fatal mistake in issuing this release, when it clearly should be focusing on dropping the price of the PS3 and doing what it used to be good at - MARKETING THE DAMN THING AND GETTING US ALL EXCITED ABOUT PLAYING NEW GAMES ON IT.
So there.
The fact that somebody in SCEA's PR department thought it was a good idea to WRITE THESE THINGS DOWN AND ISSUE THEM IN A PRESS RELEASE - not just let them slip in a slightly snarky way in an interview with IGN, which is 'the rule' for these types of things!
I just bought a laptop with Blu-ray and HDMI output - and it is going to fundamentally change the way I buy/watch/rent movies.
It takes the piss out of Sony, for sure, but for good reason. Plus, if Wired is not a 'credible' enough source for a story on gaming technology, then what is?
good point well made!
Oh. It's 'slipped' till 2010 did you say? Aaah. :(
Seems like that ten year plan is set to be scuppered in year 4.
Jesus feckin' Christ on a c*cking bike.
Reading this article and reading the comments has actually destroyed my will to live. Can we just turn the internet off now?
And which feckin' eeejits then approved it?
It is obviously not the first - see http://uk.gizmodo.com/2007/... and numerous other examples that a quick google search throws up...
Come on guys! BASIC RESEARCH...
Unless you were a child. Or an adult who tragically sufferered from a serious mental deficiency that made you act and speak and write like a child?
Why not attempt to write and speak in such a way as to communicate what you want to write or say to others? Instead of making up embarrassing playground talk with your internet friends?
I'm genuinely intrigued as to why grown adults would want to do this? I actually imagine (hope) you are both 12 or 13 tops. If not, then....
