"They're not focused on PC."
They're not focused on Xbox either. Time and again MS has proven their misconception of what a console should be.
Sony has the right conception. They're supporting the PS4. Therefore their plattform is thriving and their profits are growing. in return i, the gamer, can be rest assured that there will investments in new IPs and concepts, resulting in quality, quantity and diversity in a ...
Or it might not come to PC. You never know with Microsoft. Ha.. HA HA HA!
"1. They don't own a monopoly in os there. No extra profit for them. "
What has this to do with the OS? Let me put the emphasis on the term MONOPOLY!
There is no pushing of Win10 by making a few more games Win10 only. DirectX is doing this a lot better.
"2. Playstation devision is what keeping Sony afloat. They are gonna try their best to make it sell well. "
It's doing pretty well, but no reason to o...
"I buy my consoles based on the console, its OS/firmware, and fit into my home environment. Not because they have a bunch of games I can't play anywhere else."
That's the dumbest thing i've read on n4g so far. But don't fret, i'm relatively new here and i'm sure there will be comments even more stupid than yours.
That's bullshit right there. ->
"MS are able to win your money without making you buy there hardware, that's smarts right there"
Hardware sells software. Less Xbox One sales, more PS4 sales, more PS4 game sales, more profit for Sony, because they earn money with every game, not only exclusives.
That's Plan B right there. -> Xbox One doesn't sell good, diverting to PC.
Even more BS right there....
Newish direction? There is nothing newish since 2005.
Saying now: "Oh, that was their plan all along. They never wanted to beat/follow Sony. Just establish the brand. Bla bla bla."
This is just big big bulls*. Of course a company tries to "brand" a brand. Every single one does that. So does Microsoft. And Nintendo. And Sony.
Evoking nostalgia... rly? So Sony is not doing such thing? PS2 Games? Nathan Drake Collection? A wh...
ffxiv will have psvr support if im not mistaken. a mmo, not my definition of awsome but maybe yours.
Since VR isnt a mere peripheral, goes beyond gaming and already has a reputation to be a game changer in everywhere imaginiable aspect- at least among those who actually experienced it and dont talk out of their asses - comparing to devices with very limited use is... just further proves that those who are trying to talk it down are talking BS.
i wasnt interested in 3d either. but im interested in VR. highly anticipating VR. it is already supported by numerous game publishers and developers AND beyond. and traditional controllers will sill be a main input device.
so... you are not talking sense here... at all.
no. thats not what they are saying, you prick.
snow...
i went there even further.
where was it ever implied to be linear? or a shooter? nowhere. if anything the name of the game tells sth. completely different. not to forget words it was described with like "genre defining" and "whole new way to experience videogames".
Love? They are not even holding hands, let alone kissing each other.
No. Not all three need to be a mainstream success. Because only PS VR has the potential to be a mainstream success. Since the cost for PC VR are at least twice as high. In case of HTC Vive i'd even say three times as high. It only has to cost about 1000. Not unlikely considering it has better tech than the oculus.
And high end PCs aren't mainstream to begin with. Where were we...? Right. Why do all three need to be successful "to really start to have a foothold&q...
"It’s hard to say what Sony were planning to do with the trademark: presumably employ a selected group of smiling happy bodies to play all day and say nothing but great things about their games?"
Presumably? But acting like it is the truth and issue judgement based on this saying Sony is out of touch with the community although they have the most diverse and plentiful exclusive line up fulfilling the wishes of many fans?
"A trademark on the phr...
"They'll be halfassed games like the way they had special versions of triple A games designed just for motion control. VR is a gimmick so far."
Nonsense. It's clear you have no idea what you're talking about. When developing games for VR there has to be certain rules to be followed. However, as this list proves, the developers still can stick to conventional concepts, choosing the gamepad as input peripheral. That is why VR support can be implemented qui...
" It just feels like a repeat of that familiar path motion control took us on."
to you it looks feels like it because you dont know any better.
motion control by itself never had this kind of support behind it. soft and hardwarewise. incontrast to the little droplets of motion control devices over the last three decades VR has a plethora of devices and applications incoming.

To get a glimpse of how big VRAR is going to be... or already is.
Many people still don't understand the significance of this technology and why it will usher in a new era.
But we also have to consider. Rift comes with a cam, 1 controller, 2 games, isn't produced in quantities, Sony is experienced in developing and production of HMDs and use of external processing unit.
Sure, let's see this case totally isolated. Let no big picture view get in the way. Let's forget about the original Xbox One concept introduced in 2013. Of course you might want to protest, and say: "get over it, don't be resentful, whats the big deal, they've changed, bla bla".
What MS was trying to do was very revealing and the consequences are physically present till this day. Trying to enforce a useless plastic lump (Kinect) upon the customer. Ha...
