Sick of realism? Come on now, not every game can be Ratchet and Clank based (though I love those games a lot).
We have to go down a slightly realistic path, at least based on the game. That's why Modern Warfare 2 is considered to unrealistic, some of the things you can do in that game (commando super dash). Even though the aiming isn't exactly realistic.

Modern Warfare 2 = extreme hollywood chase scene where you're playing as a group of special operatives that take down nuclear subs and then use them to stop nuclear warheads.
At least in Cod4, you played throughout most of it as a regular soldier, until the end at least ,where they became a little ridiculous.

Gamers now a days standards have fallen greatly. There are too many casuals, and because of them, developers aren't giving some of the up to standard things they they should be.
So, not sure if some of you don't realize it, but Combat Evolved was meant to signify the fact that they all use advanced weaponry and future stuff etc etc blah blah.
