"But sometimes innovation is not important at all. Just correcting an already done formula can make an amazing game. I think that highlights the misuse of the word innovative, loads of people apply it onto any game that they thought was really good - when infact the game was just developed really well. Nearly every idea that you could come up with for a game will have been done in some way, at some level before; the question is - will X game do it better? Maybe take an idea that had prev...
Most likely will be, doubt anything has been confirmed but with Rising and the HD collections releasing on more than one platform and the fact Kojima Productions made a new Multi-platform engine I'd say all signs point to yes it will be multi-plat. It'll prolly even get a Wii-U release.
Great news, I just hope it's a prequel because I don't want some stupid thing like "Snakes Clone" or some BS like that to just start up the story again. Let me play as Big Boss or Snake in the time between Mgs1-2.
@below
Hell yea, I really hope they diversify the locations a lot in MGS5.
Doubt it'll be exclusive, they made a multiplatform engine so I'm sure they plan on making it for as many platforms as possible (prolly even see a WiiU release)...and the fact that MGS:Rising is multiplat and the fact that Konami know there are millions more to be made by going the multi route.
All I can say is as long as the quality is as good as MGS4 then I'll be happy.
+bubble good sir.
I hate how gamers and pubs/devs throw around the word innovation...I haven't seen a truly innovative game in years. It seems all you have to do to get a game called innovative is throw 2 genre's together.
Now I haven't played Uc3 for more than a few minutes so I don't know if it's GOTY. Also I haven't played every other game that has been released this year so I couldn't really give a good opinion on what I think ...
Yea really what game has been "Innovative" this year? Everything has pretty much been sequels that just added more (or less) to the previous games in said franchises.
I'd love it, the 2 places I've wanted the series to go to the most are Egypt and Japan...so make one of them happen.
Just give me Versus, I don't care about anything else S-E has right now unless they announce KH3 for a current HD console.
higher frame-rates would be nice too
Yea the American console of choice is the Wii for sure.
Have to agree with the list, I'd ad GT5 in there too though as it's the best selling exclusive.
Yea all of them are pretty surprising, now I'm going to load up FF7 to see if I can really play some piano.
Eh too soon for this article, not enough Ps2 classics to need a Buyer's guide.
Nah man let them do a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game, they seem pretty good at making beat em ups...just sucks Nickelodeon own the rights to them now, RIP TMNT.
I just hope next gen we get more stable frame-rates and less screen-tearing, higher native resolutions wouldn't hurt either.
Besides we are getting to the point to where art style is more important.
They're pretty much worthless to me especially the scoring system, I'll read previews most sites have before hand though just to get my fix but by time a game is out I usually know if I want to play it from gameplay vids and previews.
I agree, at the very least they should allow you to install the MP part of games so they load faster....and to keep your disc drive from being used as much.
I'm not surprised I think the Ps3 version has Ac1 on disc and that game had a pretty good sized installed I believe.
Gimme a new Darkstalkers game now!
Same here but I'm sure there would be a lot of fan backlash if Snake or BigBoss aren't the main protagonist...kinda like MGS2 and Rising so I doubt theyll do it.
Personally though I love all the MGS characters and wouldn't mind playing a game as any of them so I can get their whole story, but I'd prefer some good ol' Snake just like everyone else.
