Thanks to Activision, Blizzard has turned into a platform for "mobile quality" games, it's a disgusting shame, and proves that Activision must die. Blizzard should be allowed to make whatever they want, not limited to monotonized bs.
Did you not notice the lack of full gameplay demos at this years e3??? They were the ONLY ones last year to show off their games with no bullshit...something that not even Square managed to fully accomplish this year...they did THE MOST last year and the years before, and if you cannot see that now, you must be a fanboy or delusional.
A non-nerdy answer, because this gen still has one more year of juice left... simple as that...6 years is the typical console year life cycle...Maybe with Nintendo needing to be the exception, since they refuse to invest in hardware that will last for 6 years.
