Really looking forward to reliving the distant backgrounds in the Ratchet & Clank parade scene in higher detail
Nobody but people who actually care which company sells more would be against the end of exclusivity. It's fandom, it's a cult, it's brand loyalty, that it. Competition would happen between developers who actually want their games to outsell other games. "Competition" is such a dumb argument because there is tons of competition between developers on the same consoles.
Remember when Iwata and other Nintendo execs took like a 50% paycut and more to prevent layoffs. It stills begs the question of why a company sitting on a mountain of cash even needed to fire anyone, but still.
I’m not sure “that’s how it’s been going” is a defense in either direction, criticism or praise.
That’s just pointing out what they’re doing. It doesn’t make it good just because it’s what they’re doing.
The alternative scenario being nobody talking about or covering the newest entry in one of gaming’s most popular franchises?
Also, was the timing perfect? The game comes out next week. When else would they have released it. They didn’t know when starfield would be shown and Zelda came out last month.
The DQ 11 demo was literally the first 15 hours of the game or something.
Yeah, but is releasing a demo to increase hype “marketing genius?”
The actual price of a single item or hobby is not always what determines if it is too "expensive." If I have 7 other financial responsibilities that have gone up in price, while my wage has not, then games becoming "less expensive" can still not be enough. It's still "too expensive" as a non-life necessity.
Huh, I was thinking it looked more like a 9.83 myself
Is having Down syndrome a negative character trait?
Anyone with any of the next gen consoles, myself included, is sitting in a dimly lit room with a party banner barely still hanging up from launch day that day says “the next generation of gaming has arrived”, but nobody besides your one neighbor your aren’t even that close to bothered to show up to the party that day.
Why are gamers so defensive and puritanical? There’s a clear shift to services since the 360/ps3 days. A huge selling point of the ps5 is the quick access to a the ps4 digital catalog if you pay for the right service. Xbox service concentration is obvious.
This can all be true and still see that obvious these companies are making games lol.
There is a huge focus on services, it’s just what’s happening, for better or worse.
Where are you downloading Ryujinx games? Every site I’ve tried looks like it’ll infect my computer forever
“But, that's the goal of video games, to keep you performing actions related to their gameplay and concept”
The point the author is making is the gameplay in some of these games can directly contradict or invalidate the story, themes or whatever else.
We all get it; they’re games and it’s fun. I personally don’t really care about the contradictions. But it’s not unlike a video game to have you kill 50 people and then have a cutscene depicting the main...
What the f*#ck is wrong with some of you people lol. Jesus Christ, touch grass.
Gamers are the weakest of snowflakes who b*#tch if a character in a game is gay, but respond to worker abuse and exploitation with “well if you don’t like it don’t do that job”.
A detailed report could be released showing that a company is making it employees develop game from inside an active volcano while being whipped if they try to escape and gamers would find some way to say the workers are complaining too much
It would be fun the first 5 times you fly. Whether or not it “should” be there to be in line with the type of game it is or that some other studio did it doesn’t matter. They made a value decision.
I’ve also never understood how people state that Nintendo has the kids market as some sort of delegitimization of sales. Yeah there are kids out there that want to play video games??
It’s not about difficulty, it’s about the game not really changing. As I said, I did 40ish hours and I kinda got what i needed until I decide to come back.
I kinda get it. I’m about 40 hours in and I love the exploration and the feeling of discovering a new catacomb or whatnot, and the satisfaction with beating a strong enemy, but it’s also a huge time investment for just getting strong to beat the next stronger enemy.
If I really gave the game the time it needed, I wouldn’t be doing anything else when I’m not working.
I think another 20ish more hours and I’ll be able to tell myself “ok I get this game, I ...
Does "existing IP" mean not using any already established characters from even other IP? Is Kingdom Hearts comparable with Final Fantasy?
