Games used to regularly cost $70 on the SNES and N64. Prices will never really stay constant.

And what is exactly is REALLY played, as opposed to fake playing? Being emotionally involved instead of just playing to finish the game as fast as possible? Just curious as to your use of words.
According to one of their weekly updates which I read a while ago, Halo is rated mature because it gives you the ability to kill your human allies. In fact, they had to demonstrate to the board the different ways your character could kill another human before they could give it a rating.

Biologically speaking, it won't make a difference to anyone playing the game since the human eye can only detect so many frames.

In that perspective, I can see why they can be considered disappointments. But as we can all see from this article, what one views as a disappointment is subjective, and personally I enjoyed Killzone (both of them) and Forza. Can't say much about L4D, didn't get into it that much but I can see the appeal.
A fall 2010 release was already revealed by Bungie, so it seems obvious the game will finish around mid to late summer.
8 hours seems a bit much to spend on a shooter, but hey if you're gonna do it all the best :D
I haven't played ODST, but what was wrong with Forza or L4D2?
Its just so fun to play, I was honestly surprised. And I just started hero mode as well, and the added challenge of trying not to get one or two shot creates another layer of entertainment for me.
