The average joe only cares about games he/she hears about, or see's on tv and could careless about brand loyalty. you really think the bulk of the consumer's will buy a console close to a grand for some games and and a extra pad. they'll go with the HD-DVD they have been hearing about. And by the time PS3 launches it will be drilled in the collective minds of the public Blu0ray has poor quality. Seven mounths is a long time to be hearing negative things about Blu-ray. lol
Sega wasn't rich enough to compete with Sony. MS isn't going anywhere. All they have to do is keep bring it. The console war started when the two companies declared war. The war stared this last spring. It started when the consumer expected it or when it was declared.

People will go to the video game shop watch the games on the store tv or play the games on the store console's and that's is far as most shopper's will look into it. I got to admit im a Xbox fan girl yet the wii got my attention with its innovation! and Sony was just wrong to try to take the wii controller buzz by saying there controller has motion sensing built in too! I believe Gears of War, Mass Effect, Saints Row, Forza2, Too Human, lost Planet, will be HUGE, and with all the other impressive games in 360's lineup this fall and halo3 coming 2007 make u wonder if Sony can just come into the market with ps3 and own this time around.

I expect the ps2 to still sell better then the ps3 in 2007. There is a huge library of used low cost ps2 games out there, instead of shelling out $600 you can buy tons of used games that are fun, time consuming, and don't empty your wallet. I own a xbox and since the 360 came out the price of used games drop drastically, it is a true golden age, I recently picked up a used copy of Forza Motorsports on amazon for $5.62! Rather play Grand Raid OFFRoad. Seems alot more next-gen, more fun and it seems like it wont get lod after you beat it lol.
