im in absolute agreement. How could any editor let someone put out this garbage when it is not even a fair comparison.

WOW i can make all my PS3 games look that bad when i turn up the brightness on my Sony Bravia. This why i never trust unfinished renderings. Too many people jump to conclusions with these early releases. Not to say that i would actually buy this game anyways, because it looks pretty boring, but i would wait to compare system vs. system until the final release is out.

I can't wait until games start getting ported from the PS3 to the 360 so when we see articles like this, it w...

Your're most likely out of luck and just got screwed in the MS money making machine

It would most likely be a larger number than that since MS will need to work it into computers as well.

If i were a 360 owner i would definitely use Blu-Ray as my rationale to purchase a PS3 so i can have that and 2 gaming systems. Fortunately i was one of the smart ones who held out on Next Gen for PS3 to come out so i could have an all in one unit and will have no need for 360 since any good games they have i can just purchase for PC.

I totally disagree. First, i don't think they can just add it on to xbox360 withought the permission of sony ( who owns the technology). Sony gives permission to manufacturers to build the units. They could easily say no to Toshiba when they want to build a unit that is compatible with the xbox360. However, they will sell certain rights to Toshiba in the future if they want to sell players. ITs called patenting rights. Sony has exclusivity to do with it whatever they like. If another co...

So exactly how is HD-DVD better off with only 2 major companies supporting them now as opposed to 3? You are totally illogical. Please read what you write before you post please.

Judging from your username we can all see that you are going to have a one sided view on this. You are correct in the fact that the format war is far from over. I would give it till the end of the year for Toshiba to concede. At this point they (Toshiba) will most likely be fighting to get special incentives/rights when they are forced to switch over to Blu-Ray. Just because HD-DVD will be dead, doesn't mean that Toshiba will not want to start putting out Blu-Ray players themselves and mi...

Don't be surprised if within the next couple of months Blockbuster announces that it will be going Blu Ray exclusive as well for instore rentals. When this happens you will see Blu-Ray Sales skyrocket through Blockbuster purchases. Hopefully Paramount and other HD-DVD exclusive companies have a contract clause that lets them back out if the market share for Hi-Def swings far enough in a certain direction.

I'm sure Paramount already has in storage copies of Blu-Ray movies read...

People tend to forget that no matter what happens, Blu Ray tech cannot fail because it is used for PS3 games. As the market continues to pick up for PS3 more games will be sold meaning more blu ray discs will be needed for those games.

HD-DVD has the most to lose in this format war, because if they fail, then that technology is dead.

A Great article and a Great Roundup of games to come in 2008. Thanks for posting. Finally, next year it won't be completely about FPS games. I am starting to get a little overwhelmed with them as of late. Looking forward to the upcoming exclusives. If done right, I think Home could be out of this world. Imagine if you are in the Home environment and your character walks into a store where you can purchase Socom: Confrontation. That would be ridiculous.

What if your precious games start being released on HD DVD's only and you are forced to either buy an external drive or upgrade to the new system? When you think about it, all the dominos are in place for MS to pull this one over on loyal 360 fans.

All the sudden the install base has to do either one and new owners will obviously choose to buy the Ultimate version. Sounds like another one of MS money making schemes.

This all sounds in line with Vista and compat...

I think you need to look at what you are saying and direct it back at yourself you hypocrit. You are only seeing what you want to see when it is pretty obvious what the issue is. This game, no matter how much you like it to be better on 360 is going to be the exact same on each system give or take a couple of things that favor each system. The devs are not going to go out there and make either the PS3 or 360 versions look infinitly superior to one or the other. Its just not good business ...

I'm guessing that most of these "hardcore" crapbox360 fanboys had a PS2 and jumped the gun on the next gen and bought an inferior system because they just "couldn't wait" and now they are dissapointed and trying to justify their purchase by badmouthing a far superior system.

TRUTH: PS3 Hardware is above and beyond superior to crapbox360's (this has already been proven-no argument needed on this one fanboys)

Truth: PS3 version matches its cou...

You will soon understand the magnitude of Blu-Ray and the format war when your xbox360 becomes obsolete and is upgraded to xbox360.5 with internal blu-ray as most computers will be containing these drives in the future. I wonder how much Sony will charge MS in the future for that technology.

Blu-Ray is already outselling HD-DVD's 70-30. Here's what needs to/will happen for the final blow:

First price drop on players(already seeing the success with the price drop on PS3)

Then Paramount comes back over.

Here's the big one: Blockbuster finishes their test markets for Blu-Ray vs. HD DVD (Blu-Ray is outdoing 66%-34% currently in test locations) Blu-Ray will naturally win out here and all BB locations will load up on Blu-Ray discs putting B...

Also, They both get the Harry Potter Series, which has just recently come out and been updated on both formats. Those HD movies are going to kill in sales. hmmm i wonder who is going to win that battle. Good job Sony. They really knew what they were doing by adding Blu-Ray to PS3. Like someone mentioned before, even if Blu-Ray movies would have failed, they still would be making Blu-Ray games for PS3. Also, since they are a superior tech to HD-DVD, they will easily win out in the comput...

I couldn't agree with you more Tanod. When DVD first came out i held out on purchasing a player until the price was right. The same thing is happening here, the only thing is that Blue-Ray has already taken one leg off of HD DVD thanks to the PS3. All they have to do is lean on em now. The final blow will be when blockbuster is finished testing and moves to an all Blu-Ray Selection at all stores. Remember the death of BetaMax? History is repeating itself. Sony made all the right moves fo...

It's absolutely brilliant seeing all the steps that Sony is taking. I'm sure the starting price for the PS3 was a big mistake, but these guys definitely know what they are doing (adding Blu-Ray). Sony see's that winning in the Next Gen War (movies, music and games) is going to take a top notch effort from all categories not just gaming (360). I don't know about you but i enjoy my gaming system (PS3) for more than just games. PS3 Is and will be the true Next Gen entertainment system. It h...
