I am thinking that they should not get out of TV entirely, but get out of the general TV market. They can't compete for the general consumer's money, where price is the most important factor over quality or features. They should just limit themselves to a few 4K models, and sell them to the niche high-end market. It would be less sales, but that is where the profit margins are much higher, and there is less real competition.
You know, just because that is the site where the story is from does not actually mean it is the source. American McGee is a developer who lives in China. He has nothing to do with PlayStation.
Hardly true. We have seen Sony's first party AAA output. It is going to be fine. They just haven't shown anything besides The Order that wasn't launch window. We'll see more soon. Hardly any of their studios have shown anything yet. In the meantime, they are securing tons of indies. Microsoft only appears to have more in development because they announced games for the next year at last E3. Most don't actually exist publicly beyond a CG trailer (Black Tusk trailer wasn'...
First of all, this guy is established, not a "no name". Second, how do you think the big names got where they are? They all started out as nobodies. Ignoring the nobody little guy is how you miss out on the next Minecraft. Those sort of things come out of nowhere over night.
He left because he lives like four hours from the studio, barely saw his family, and now his son is terminally ill. Do you feel like a douchebag now?
They are just starting to approach more even footing, but Sony still has the advantage. Microsoft made a big deal of announcing a batch of indie games at GDC, while the PlayStation Blog casually announces one every few days.
It is like the Tanker part of MGS2, and Phantom Pain would be the Big Shell.
I think since this is a completely unique rendering solution, PR would have a very hard time explaining exactly what the hell is going on anyway. At least in a way most consumers would understand. Most people discussing the issue here and on other sites don't really seem to understand it. It isn't as simple as it being 960x1080, because that would leave half your TV blank. If they claimed that was the resolution, that wouldn't be true either. To fully explain to the customer what ...
This data does not represent all of these countries everyone is talking about. It is just the UK. The extra countries have nothing to do with these sales numbers, at all.
Also, seriously, can anyone tell me what countries the Xbox has yet to launch in, where PS4 is already available, that they see as key to Microsoft's business? Isn't it Microsoft's fault they didn't launch there anyway?
Irrelevant. I think Play.com is in the UK, or at most only in wider Europe? These sales only reflect that region, where both consoles are available.
So Albert Penello knows more about what is going on behind the scenes, but was told "you don't need to know" when he asked about Call of Duty resolution?

Not really. We are dealing with 2 completely different things here.
MS is pushing cloud computing, and they have thus far not demonstrated it in any meaningful way. Sony is pushing game streaming, which people just tried out at CES.
Xbox One was seemingly designed around the TV functionality and it has been a major part of their marketing. Sony, as a corporation, is developing an internet TV service. Naturally, as the PS4 is one of its most popular products, they will make the...
This quote was posted from the article and I noticed it ended with a comma, so I went and got the whole thing.
"Xbox One's gaming partition gets the "majority of the resources of the box", according to Multerer, and runs a "very thin" (that's to say, non-memory intensive) operating system - so "thin", in fact that games "pretty much sit right on top of the hardware", granting all but unfettered access to its capabilities. I...
Listened to him in the first place? What evidence do we have that he opposed the original plans? After announcing the price at E3 last year, and walking off the stage, the microphone caught that Phil said that he was surprised because he thought people would like the price. He was on the same train as the rest of Microsoft at the time.
