I think whether or not you believe this was worth the $60, one very simple fact remains: Bungie should have offered a reduced price DLC version including firefight and the campaign to those that already have Halo 3 and the maps.
I don't quite agree with him; gamers have always had tactile feedback, and to take that completely away doesn't seem like the right move. On the other hand he's Kojima, he sees things on a different level than most. I'm willing to keep an open mind.
The first thing I did after finishing the game (and watching the 2 some hours of documentary that came with the LE **worth every red cent BTW**) was pop the disk back in and play it again. I have never done that with any game.
I don't think there's any question that Live is worth $5 a month from a value perspective.
However I also don't think there's any question that MS could sustain Live's current level of service WITHOUT charging consumers for it.
All the bashing(on both sides), the purported bashing(on both sides), and moreover the coverage of the bashing, is getting really old. Stop approving these stories already, they are not newsworthy.
If his company actually made an MMO his argument might have some weight (pun intended). BTW, that picture was taken at a press conference while he was describing the size of his member.
The truth is there is no "perfect console" and each console has it's advantages and disadvantages. As long as your having fun with your console right now, what else matters?
To some that can afford only one console, it may be a phenomenon stemming from paranoia; that their console may not survive unless they actively recruit people to their console (by bashing other consoles). This is also pretty fruitless because no console lasts forever, and eventually we'll all migra...
It simply means they have no current facility to develop on PS3. Their core competency is 360. You don't just decide overnight that your going to start cranking out games on a different platform, much less do a halfway decent job at it. To pretend otherwise would be pure fantasy.
Being on Kojima's level means wanting to produce more then what's currently possible; it doesn't surprise me one bit.
I have both consoles and the God's honest truth is there is only one upcoming game (of the games announced) that I'm really interested in for 360: Gears of War 2.
On the PS3 I'm interested in Resistance 2, Killzone 2, Socom Confrontation, Little Big Planet, the Agency, MAG, and FXIII (I'm getting it on PS3 because there's a chance there will be more content available with the increased capacity of Blu-ray, plus it's being ported to 360 from PS3, not the other way around).
It's just not technically feasible to have the same MGS4 experience on the 360.
We know the blu-ray was stuffed to the rafters with content (25GB, and we know Kojima wanted more space) and to shrink that to 8.5GB would be an injustice for all concerned (360 owners, Konami, and Kojima).
It's simply a bad idea.
These are based on metacritic reviews, which are based on what the publications think, not what the public at large thinks. Since when did the publications represent what we think?!
Since we know that some “publications” appear to be on the take, the premise of this article is logically flawed, and therefore completely irrelevant!
It's absurd.
There's no other product in existence that forces ads down your throat even though you pay for the service (except for cable TV, but don't get me started).
We should own every inch of real estate on that dashboard at that price.
Put all the ads in the marketplace blade where they belong M$!
Comparing Too Human to MGS4?! This guy is clearly on crack. With all due respect to Too Human, it doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as MGS4. If the Too Human franchise manages to survive 10 years, then we'll talk.
With that said, I own both consoles and I'm probably getting this game.
After carefully examining each and every ad I've come to the conclusion that Evony is just terrible, and that they could really be on to something here.
