After all these years the game feels dead to me now. It's just some other production with no soul. I stand by those who made the characters come alive. The ones we came to love throughout the years. Like David, looks like its time to move on. Plus I don't think I can take anymore of Kojimas bs answers. Please make up more stories as you go along why don't you. The real fans see through the bs Kojima and the games poor sells figures will make you see as well.

As we should be. To have Kojima come out and state some bs of a reason.... Some of us have been with this game since the very start. The whole point was to grow with the story and we knew who was behind the characters. We've known there's been a issue since the MGS movie was announced. Which Kojima also stated David would not be a part of that. Maybe Kojima should have stuck to his word and ended it at MGS4. Now it's just become another game mixed in with the world of many.
Well, Metal Gear just became another game in the world of many. It's been long out there something was up between Kojima and David. So it's no surprise we'd see a bs answer like this come from him. Oh well, nothing good last forever.

I agree totally and I too will own TLOU for sure. But damn is the hype train strong with this one. Could be because not only is it a great game. But the end of a console era.
And watch, it won't touch any accomplishments MGS4 set 5 years ago. Not in total sales, first day sells ( 1.4 million ), not in PS3 console sells percentages ( 4003% ). Even back when the console was $499 and $599. Hell, MGS4 had its very on limited edition collectors console. The other reality is E3 and the PS4. Once it's out, people are going to flock to the new more highly advanced system. Which already has many AAA games for it. One which happens to be MGS5. :D

While UC2 is one the of best games ever on the PS3. It did nothing compared to MGS4. Not in total sales, not in first day sales ( 1.4 million ), not in raising PS3 sells percentages ( MGS4 4003% ). Even at a time when the PS3 was still $499 and $599. Both had a ton of 100 perfrect scores. So that do have that in common.

Pull up Metal Gear Solid 3 on the PS2. Yes, it's not like the remake HD PS3 version. But back in the day it was way ahead of it's time. There was a lot of detail going on in that game. Like water due drops dropping on electrified fencing and you can hear the zapping sound. It already had the random butterflies and bugs flying around in the jungle.
