Definitely not for everyone, but i had a decent time with it when the tracking was stable.
Square seemed to have focused on the relationship between the characters more than the story itself. To each their own, but I think it helps develop the bond between the four and highlights the combat, which affects so much more of the narrative than a series of isolated side quests. They certainly could always be more interesting, though.
Its downsides are pretty insignificant compared to what the game accomplishes. Highly recommend!

It's got a strong Tenchu-meets-Sly Cooper vibe, just a lot darker. The art direction is gorgeous, though – I'm in love.
