bought a Wii U basic set at launch. I preferred the white color. Got a 1TB external western digital harddrive for about 70 dollars. and an additional controller for $40.
MY over-all cost was about $450 after tax.
I love my wii u and i cannot complain.
As a life time gamer since the 80s and a father. I will simply say that it is important to be aware of what games you allow your children to play. Games are the new comic book and tv shows. Its not the same as the past where only a limited few of us got to play games. Today's games are far more violent than games of the past. A game does not have to sell 30 million copies to be good.. I am in the minority but i cannot stand call of duty.. i prefer the much less popular killzone and resistance... game sells do not make a game good or bad!

I am sick of hearing about how great final fantasy 7 is. I personally never finished the game. I was side tracked with Panzer dragoon saga. Final fantasy 7 is the most over rated game in the franchise. VI, IX, X, XII and even XIII-2 are far better games. with VI and XIII taking the cake.

The Wii U is far from crap and the ps4 is not even out yet. I would rather enjoy what is out now then ponder about the future.
