I've been waiting to buy a PS4 because of my backlog(Kingdom Hearts 1.5, 2.5, Metal Gear Legacy, Arkham games, and FFX) but if they release this game in sept I would buy my PS4 that day.
Exactly, even if they are worried about affecting the handheld titles sales all they have to do is limit the regions at launch. They can continue adding new regions on the handhelds and for the Wii U they can have Kanto and Johto at launch and add expansion packs every year.
They showed plenty of gameplay already.

Well if someone wants to buy it three or four times that's their CHOICE. This isn't like Crapcom cutting content and selling the ultra, mega, super, awesomesauce version of a single game. This is for people who would like the resolution upgrade or simply for people who haven't bought it yet and moved to next gen already(like me).
Uhh yeah...that's one of reasons some peope aren't buying it.

Actually they couldn't. They needed an attractive price point for launch. It would've been a bad idea to make a 499.99 vita bundle as it would make the system as a whole less attractive to the causal buyers.
