@garrettbobbyferguson By mainstream we mean a popular genre that everyone play, COD is a good example for mainstream games.
SH is horror panic genre. Besides being rated M, it does not have a massive crowd of players(300k copies for SH4).
And yes there is a movie based on SH even if it does cover only a shrink of its universe . But it had nothing to do with sales figures of the game.
From a developer POV, the ROI is not that encouraging.
True, Hardcore fans will buy it new but won't achieve great sales figures. SH4 didn't even surpass 300k.
That's the problem with non mainstream games.
Hope they will make up their minds and reverse this stupid cancellation.
A chronological problem ?
Everything in MGSV is there on purpose : the filler missions in chapter 2, the abrupt presumed "ending", and the unanswered plots.
It's not the game that's unfinished, we had not finished it yet.
We are feeling the phantom pain right now and it was all planned.
Kojima said back at March that the game was finished and is being polished.
Knowing Kojima, the best is yet to come.
Poor Spencer, it just can't, hard luck for the next gen.
MGS is story not an hour's count
20$ for a real closure ? YES.
Jealousy of what ? I play on Sony consoles since the 90's, not like the bunch of kids getting money from their mommys.

Couldn't say it better. Man I'm furious at how i feel betrayed.
Weapons in MGSV are meaningless,do you remember how freaking awesome was the sensation when you find the SOCOM in the truck back in MGS1!I even cared for the amount of bullets i had.

I think that Mr Kojima was not involved in this one
I think that there will be lots of elements related to the other iterations of the saga.
I really recommend you to play the other ones in order to get the full image.
If you can't do so, at least watch some videos on YouTube, that are made like movies with cutscenes and the most important moments of gameplay,and which summarize each entry of the saga.
