That next to no one is going to buy a console by itself if you can get it with a free game. It isnt puting any consumer at a disadvantage. Its giving the consumer something for free whilst greatly increasing software sales. Who complains about that? Or are we just upset that the MS price cut did NOTHING for europe?
Either free game or a 100 dollar price cut (depending on what currency we're talking about). Wouldnt suprise me if after the MGS bundle there is a price cut of the individual console.

I actually don't agree with this article. Points 10, 9, 3 and 1 I agree with for EVERY shooter. Opinions on the rest:
8- Must be realistic cover. Cod4 and Uncharted come to mind. Bullets don't bounce off of tin sheeting. Really this point only applies to 3rd person shooters because the way you control your character can be cumbersome if you don't have a "lock to cover" system, where as 1st person shooters its just a natural part of the game.

I know hey. Every console these days has usb ports(wii? Dunno). Why we are still getting shooters without mouse and keyboard support, I dont know.

Have owned both consoles. Live was just an online service to me. Big whoop. PSN is the same, except i can download cool stuff for free and the whole service is free. They both lag out occasionally. Get over it. Achievments were cool, because they encourage you to f$ck around in the game and really get the most out of it, but gta has always had these kinda things built in. Sonys only mistake at launch was having no "Name" Games. That is, games with names that we know. GT pops up and boom, away they go. MGS will most likely be the same. With the price point where it was, and to a degree, where it still is, a majority of your customers have to be Hardcore/loyalists. I think this explains the (ex) low software attach rate. But when i first set up my wlan everything was dissconnecting. Easily fixed. Bumped the output power to max, switched to channel 11 and here's the big one, MOVED MY CORDLESS PHONE docking station away from the router. Just for anyone having similar problems....

If a 600 dollar console breaks, it sucks no matter why it broke. People shouldnt say "just because its sony its ok". However like most people here are saying, it isnt anywhere near as widespread as the 360 problems. I had one issue with my first ps3, in that it kept freezing. After 5 minutes on the phone i was told to take it and a printed voucher to my local aus. post, and send it in, the postage would be paid for and id have it back in 6-7 working days. All this without asking for...
Except for me, the statistical fluke(?) is that every 360 i know of (about 5) has broken.
