How stupid. IE isn't just a browser it is a set of tools that other programs use. If you take it away, things that integrate it won't work (such as Steam).
Not in the next 5 years. In terms of price, capacity and lifetime, current-tech HDDs will be better. Too many write cycles equals dead disk, and a gamer like myself has a lot of write cycles!
