Nice list, then again that's always to be expected from Gamasutra.
I don't see how they could include Super Mario RPG yet skip Chrono Trigger.
Isn't it ironic how people bring up irrelevant exclusive games in an attempt to drive attention from these supposed 'genre competitors' (as they believe in their delusional agendas to justify the purchase of a console), yet utimately do the opposite. Heh.
Surely if all the N4G fanboys would be playing their favourites instead, these multiplatform games' topics would't regularly be at the front page. Speaks volumes about your guys' confidence, doesn...
TRA is 'considered' to be a brilliant remake of the first one, the general consensus is that it succeeded in recreating the fantastic atmosphere of the original game whilst fixing all of the controls/camera issues, EG awarded it a 9.

Legend revitalized the series after the abysmal mess that was AoD, got positive reception and the general ...
@17 Nah, Bayonetta was great in every possible way, except the rushed narrative. It's some people being as subtle as a battering ram, plus close minded AND poor at hack and slash.
In any case, FFXIII should be there. No crap games list is complete without that one.
Crazy fanboys, making stuff up. The games have nothing in common with Uncharted.
Have you even played say, TRA? It's all about puzzles plus hunting for relics and the such, where as Uncharted is a tps with little to zero that kind of elements. Seriously, the platforming is almost on the rails, in TR one wrong step/misdirected jump and you're dead. The level design is completely different, consider St Francis Folly, the whole stage is one huge puzzle. They're as m...
Balt? Or more like 'Bait', yep. Not surprising that you have one bubble.
Anyway. One of the most influential, and best selling series of the 90s. Still sells fine btw, apart from the rushed Underworld. The gameplay never changed as well, and it doesn't need to either. What it does, it does better than anything similar. The games are classy.
Now what what was that about someone being abysmal?
'if you're over 12.'
'Sarah Palin doppelganger who farts butterflies'
The irony haha...
If anything, GoW is a tasteless, disgusting, near pornographic asinine entertainment. featuring a repulsive dickhead who rapes women and kills everyone in the most gruesome way one can imagine.
Also, when even the lead game designer of GoW agrees with it, surely what they said about battle system is a fact. Unless you...
Golden Eye > Perfect Dark I thought.
Well said, Rikitatsu. Great point about sales not being an indication that people necessarily keep on playing it btw.
Claiming that the game got 'better' reviews when the difference is a mere 2 points is laughable. it's just grasping at straws, Bayo got better or the same scores from pretty much every reviewer, it's metascore was brought down a bit by three sites which described it as too niche.
Also, FF has always been the most westernized, ...
Legend was indeed too easy and short, i'll give you that much. Although, another way to look at it is the game being a casual friendly attempt at a reboot, it was accessible.
I don't see how you can make these (crazy to be honest) claims, such as the ' PoP rip off'. Joking? Ubi ripped off the original TR.. the non tank control system is being used in all of the modern games. Seriously, think of what you've said for a moment.. Surely two games in the same ...
Don't worry, man. It's the popularity contests that often do. The game is acknowledged by editors' choices of many sites/mags. Off the top of my head Ign. Not to mention the upcoming Edge magazine awards ;)
What are you talking about?? did you even play the games. Seriously, both Legend and TRA were better than anything Core 've produced back then. Underworld was a bit average though, but that's the only one.
CD 've fixed the camera, the controls, the level design was excellent, Legend was a slick, refreshing and fun game. TRA was perhaps the most well done remake ever, it fixed everything that was wrong with original while maintaining that fantastic, esoteric style....
'He' isn't. The games are.
Guess this is a prime example of that eye of the beholder saying.. First people compare a tps with a puzzle/exploration adventure game, then this. Besides, this is nothing but artwork.
And, if anything it's obvious Eidos are going in the exact opposite direction, in every possible way.
Baka-akaB, to be fair they've made more improvements to the game when Legend came out than Core ever thought about during the whole 90s era.. Not to mention the fantastic job at TRA, that remake was even better than the original.
CD also said TR is pretty much the most important franchise for them, and the one they basically identify themselves with.
Either you haven't played the CD developed games, or you miss the days of PS1 exclusivity.
Troll harder please. id have been making games with emphasis on tech instead of gameplay since 1998 (well, that is up until their idea of gameplay was plausible..).
First - you have to be insane if you believe an exclusive would sell twice the amount if it was on both consoles. And 1.5 million for a niche game like Bayonetta is more than successful.
Second: stop comparing different games and grasping at straws. sales =/= quality.
Also, anyone who thinks there's a difference between 92 and 90 is a sad man. It gets two idiots on Metacritic to lower your metascore a point or two. And Bayonetta got better scores from ma...
Wut wut wut? Lmao!
rjdofu, Sega recoded the animations for PS3 version. And the frame rate hardly drops apart from that falling clock tower stage.
And killgore and pillowtalk you say? You have to beat the game on the hardest difficulty to get Pillowtalk. yeah, no fun at all...
Pathetic really, at least don't make stuff up.
Oh, and the mechanics were certainly no less complicated than Dmc, just like you choose to abuse the...
The similarities are very superficial and you have to be incredibly shallow to say they're competing in any way. Uncharted platforming and puzzles aren't nearly as deep, TR doesn't have as much shooting, might as well put it against Ass Creed and Just Cause.
In any case, here's even a quote from Livingstone, the guy who pretty much decides where the series will be going:
'... I think it's not quite correct to compare Drake's Fortune ...
