no they didn't fixed 720p blu-ray. But you have the option to choose 1080i on blu-ray playback. so if you have a 720p TV that support 1080i too. Everytime you play blu-ray, it will go to 1080i automatically without downgrade it to 480p.

how about all those with 720p TV? Most 720P LCD TV support 1080i dude, only a few rare TV that can do 720p and no 1080i. If you have 720p, you won't be left out, Blu-ray can still play 1080i. That kind of TV excuse is used when Sony just launched and the firmware resolution switcher kinda immature.
