It states only japan but my feelings are with the recent fcc filing this will be 399.99 including the ds3 in white ( formula one just got a ds3 patch today so its coming) and the current 40gb...

bought one today on open box talked them down too 65.00. Best part is toshiba doesn't get credit for it from me since it was open box so no fowl from me.
It upscaled nicely last night, so it will be worth something to me since hddvd sucks anyway.
But I just couldn't pass it up since I just returned a upscale dvd player that had issues for 20.00 less.
can't wait for the price drop on ps3! I am going to buy a 2nd one for upstairs maybe even 3 1 for the ...

my ps3 does it just fine just checked you need to have a reciever that can do it thats all. mine is a $4800.00 denon avr-4806ci. it supports all even 7.1 linear uncompressed audio!
ps. it doesn't matter though because uncompressed sounds worlds better anyway. go figure why blu ray is winning!
I have both systems both games and have played bothe the graphics are hands down better on the ps3 the distance is much more detailed and it almost makes it harder to see snipers in the grass not like the 360 where you can see them clearly. the ground is 3d also when you lay down there are barbed wire and rebar block coming up into your view. also if hd-dvd attach rates are higher then you should look at the last few months only reason they WERE was because they WERE attaching free ones they counted as purchased before blu-ray did this to make it equal.

look plain and simple this was a 1 day sale to clear old stock look at the paper the equivalant a3 is now 299.99 this week.
The hd-dvd idiots around here have some imagination that selling old stocks of maybe 80k players is going to turn this around.

If you can't see the difference between 1080i and 1080p you should get your eyes checked it is half the frames displayed if you are watching movies with action you see it clearly. if your tv de interlaces it still can't produce another motion frame that isn't there so it is slowing the fps down to let you see the whole screen.

I have got to say this and I own all three systems the ps3 no matter how much you want to hate on or dope you smoke to make the 360 look good clearly has a huge graphic advantage and to clairify there is not one game on 360 that you can clearly see passed 20-30 ft in front of you.
This game is amazing my kids love it I was wowed by it. enough said go buy a real tv that can display 1080p!
although i do have to say infinity ward has the best distance detail on x360 to date just still not enough to see guys on top of buildings etc without straining. I have a 1080p mitsu dlp so its not my tv it actually shows like a sore thumb on it.
man it is looking good I played the beta and I can say I love the game but the grapics hurt my eyes on the x360 because like all the x360 games it doesn't have enough power to generate textures passed a certain distance of view with sharp details. but the pc sure can. and the small video of the c4 perks on ps3 make certain it can too, hopefully it plays as good as the x360 or I will be buying my first pc game!!!!
looks like artwork-not scans-get it right. until epic either releases a next gen engine or calls infinity ward there games will always play with good graphics and slow play or fast play and no hit detection, either way they are both laggy online regardless. just my 2 cents.
