That's probably it. Resident Evil1-3 and Code Veronica all had slow paced gameplay. They relied heavily on suspense and fear, fear of what's around the corner when all you have is 5 bullets left. Those 2 things carried the first 4 games beautifully. The outbreak series was slightly more fast paced but it kept it's Resident Evil identity and it played great. It just doesn't feel right :/ It's an amazing experience yes, but part of that is due to the challenge. I remember starting DS for the first time & thinking the devs were insane. After getting a grip of everything & traveling light i finally managed to scrape my way to the end. After beating the final boss you feel this great sense of accomplishment. People who would start their first DS game on easy would miss that opportunity.
