I wonder how long this thing can survive on life support. Google is fairly ruthless dropping stuff, I can't see getting any traction this year. Then next gen starts and pain will be unbearable.
Dirty - And physical is still the go to videophiles & audiophiles. It's just easier for most to steal (I mean stream) than it is to actually purchase discs.
OT : Another failed product/ add-on from ms, at least they didn't force people to buy this. HDDVD was never going to win the format war.
King - it was the reasons given for the low scores, clearly the people reviewing it were never going to connect with Deacon.
But the PlayStation community is above that - Days Gone looked good from it's from it's reveal.
Now being lied to is exciting - call'em out mate, they peddled that tech demo for years.
Building hype within their customer base, knowing full well they couldn't deliver.
It still had cloud destruction? Either it was woeful in presentation and execution.
"Crackdown 3 is coming along nicely"
Straight from the forked tongue of Phil Spencer himself, he actually said that with a straight face.
Jack - A 7 from Joe ain't bad, and Jim is an eclectic cat - I'll leave it at that.
But remember they are only opinions, not facts.
All but 2 are playable on PS4 - and they didn't even mention arguably the biggest game this year TLOU2.
Sony has amazing depth to their games library going into next gen - they'll be running on all cylinders when PS5 releases.
That sounds like a PS4 and PC gamer - no mention of another console.
Do a quick edit mate.
Absolutely mate 100% - I don't support PSNOW either.
Rosckstar has milked GTAV long enough.
This is not a crack at ms mate - it's more a crack at Rockstar.
Already in this thread people have said they haven't played it yet - how that is I don't know, but each to his own.
It's an attempt to get GTA:Online a few more players and Rock star a few more shark card sales.
ms is just facilitating their greed.
Absolutely the media will write puff pieces - just seems a little one way, one overwhelmingly positive and the other negative unfounded rumours.
But whatever, it isn't working - it's actually creating positive hype and anticipation for PS5.
If you do a little digging there's a small GIF going around of GodFall which actually looks x10 better than the in-engine footage they showed.
Why that wasn't shown is beyond me...
You've missed all the negative conjecture surrounding PS5 specs and price?
It started with a few articles now there's a barrage of them - all repeating the same stuff.
None of it official, none of it positive - all of it useless.
All we're seeing regarding series x is 'hope' - 'maybe' and 'they've changed' articles.
Is that what they're going for? Because that's what ...
You're absolutely right - they didn't actually show anything of substance. The consoles design and an in-engine (although impressive) trailer.
According to me mate - it was my comment.
The hype has died down and the focus is on Sony and PS5.
Some series x gameplay would've been a start, it was definitely a strange way to go about it.
Like you said - they didn't show much.
Anyone hoping for a comeback obviously isn't aware of where the industry is trying to push us gamers.
Digital, streaming, subscription services - brick & mortar stores don't stand a chance unfortunately.
There's bugger all shops selling physical copies of games in Australia as it is now, hate to think of how it could look in 5 - 10 yrs.
It's up to gamers to decide how this should all at out. I know what future I w...
Angelic - Pretty sure Jim was saying the transition from PS4 to PS5. Many people are reluctant to upgrade because of a decent back catalogue.
It would be a HUGE mistake for Sony to give a big power advantage to ms.
They won't.
PS5 will fly off the shelves at $499 US, I can see stock shortages. This will be PS2 all over again, PS5 will do HUGE numbers from day 1.
None of this Day 1 edition sitting in warehouses...
Yes mate all that /s
Rockstar need help with GTAV - ms can do wrong, bloody saints the lot of them.
Now it's been close to month of PR puff pieces, the momentum has already swung the other way.
Now it's all about PS5 and negative articles highlighting rumours from years past.
While ms did surprise everyone - Sony included - it may have been a little too early. And they need to show games actually running on it, not in-engine stuff.
It was a console reveal after all.
darth72 - Cory Barlog tweeted he'll be attending his first CES next week. And Sony has a hashtag - #SonyCES and below it 'the future is coming'.
So there's a chance, a slim chance - but a chance nonetheless.
The massive hole in these rumours is the price. For context - $399 equates to around $570 in Aus$, they're still selling PS4Pro for around $520 - $550.
At $399 - realistically you wouldn't have much of an upgrade- the SSD, GPU and CPU are all massive upgrades over current gen.
I'd wait at least to hear from Sony officially before I'd believe any internet rumours.
eewwww project spark - a half-baked attempt from ms, like all their other 'games'. DREAMS is next creativity and freedom.
